LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Nice course/uptight marshalls

I’ve played here for 30+ years and it’s always been a relatively good experience. Ever since Duncan Golf took this course over the relaxed friendly vibe has slowly disappeared. The starter was friendly and let us go out a few minutes early as there was plenty of room ahead of our tee time. We were 15 minutes into our round and walking from out carts to the 2nd green and the marshall comes along and hints that we should play fast because they had members that would be teeing off soon and they would be unhappy if we were to hinder their pace of play. On hole number 8 he parked his cart to watch us play our approach shots to the green and then moved his cart to watch us putt out. We all felt uncomfortable with the scrutiny from this person as no other players had caught up with our group and as a matter of fact we never saw a group behind us until the 15th hole. We finished our round in 4 hours and it seemed like an appropriate amount of time to make our way around the course. If someones pace of play is causing issues then by all means give them a warning to keep up. Otherwise let the players enjoy themselves and leave them be.

Favorite course, pace is horrible

I love this track, easily my favorite public course in the region. Fairways are in great shape, greens are running extremely fast, the course conditions are really awesome right now. The only complaint is a lack of a marshal, the starter is always friendly but when the groups are stacked up 3 deep on the second teebox(visible from the marshal’s post) and each consecutive tee/approach shot is a 10 minute wait then there is clearly an issue with overbooking or not asking folks to move it along. Clocked in just shy of 6 hours for a Saturday noon tee time, pretty unacceptable despite how much I love this course. Sundays have always been slow here but last weekend takes the cake.

Lakeridge

Amazing mountain views. Greens had 2 holes one pinned. Not sure what that was about other than that greens were decent. Would definitely play it again next time I'm in Reno. 15th hole is unforgettable.

Very nice older design - fun to play, but no practice range is a big minus for me

I don’t have many complaints to be honest - the only thing that stopped me from a better review was the permanent closure of the practice tee. I’m the type who likes to hit 20-30 balls before I go to the first hole to see what’s going where today. That’s all. It’s a nice course; interesting design, good condition, fast greens. Staff are great, especially at the 19th hole, really had a good day.

Great course, terrible staff

Such a beautiful course ruined by a rude staff. Played here many times before and who ever is running the pro shop now needs a serious attitude check.

Great Course

Considering the longer winter season and very cold temperature in March, this course was in great condition and with some fast greens. I really had fun. My biggest regret was not playing from the men's tee on that very beautiful par three - the one with the island green. By the time I got to the ladies tee and realized all the fun and challenge was gone, it was too late to go back to the men's tee. I really had fun though. I would definitely return to this course in my next rip to Reno.

Great Course

Considering it is still winter, with snow on the ground, the course was in good shape with some fast greens. The view of snow capped mountains added the extra flare. The only thing I regret was not hitting from the men's tee on that beautiful par three overlooking the lake and island green. The blue tees was literally at the bottom of the hill which took away the fun for me. Perfect for many, but I like the challenge of trying to hit land from the top of the hill. I had a lot of fun with guys I played with. I will play this course again.

Winter golf beware

Paid for a 18 hole tee time there was a frost delay of an hour and unable to play back 9.

The 19th hole wasn’t open for frost delay

Pace of play was very good.
