LakeRidge Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones course that has consistently been voted the "Best of Reno" ever since it first opened in 1969. Though the course sits less than five miles from downtown, the surrounding mountains provide a tucked-away feel. There are some stunning views from the elevated tees but don't get too distracted, this challenging course demands your attention. Mature trees tower over the fairways but they are thankfully wide enough to offer a little room for error. Water comes into play frequently and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along the undulating greens. Accuracy is essential at LakeRidge Golf Course. The signature hole is the par-3 15th. This tee sits atop a rocky ridge that is perched 140 feet above Lake Stanley. You'll be playing downhill to an island green on this challenging but scenic hole.

Lake Ridge

Nice course. Big fairways and good greens. I would recommend this course. Great day for the cost to play.

Must Play

I will play this course everytime I am in Reno. You can pay more at nearby courses, but this course offers more bang for the buck. The staff was very helpful and I found the course in very good condition. There are a couple tough holes (like #18), but overall, if you hit the ball straight you should have a very enjoyable round.

Old time course with old time layout

Playing this course took me back in time to when accuracy and shot placement mattered much more than length. Although the par 5s are stout in distance, the par 4s are relatively short and demand good length hitters to "position" their tee shots (oft times with somewhat less than driver) and concentrate on "getting" approach shots close to pins (which were hard to make given somewhat slow pace of greens).

Rude to beginner players

I played in a foursome where all four of us were still somewhat inexperienced, though decent players. Geelong rushed on the first hole, we all played a little frantically which led to it taking a bit longer on the first hole. We had told the starter that we'd be playing from 3 different tees, yet he still came up to us after the first hole to criticize our speed. That was literally the only hole where people had to wait on us. He was so quick to get on our case rather than letting us get a few holes under our belt. This is the only course I know of where the staff berates you if you're "slow". The course is decent though there are some very muddy spots and lots of trees to deal with, among other things. I also think it's too costly for the mediocrity of the course.

Very friendly staff. Check in was a breeze. I was paired with a local who knew everything about the course and our skill levels were about the same. This was extremely helpful and I had a very enjoyable round. When I return to Reno, I will absolutely return to Lakeridge.

One of the best in Reno

The greens are always watered to satisfaction, you can stick them. Greens are challenging, lots of last second break. Only ding on this course is the amount of people and how they stack everyone in 5-10 minute intervals. If you play in the afternoon expect to play a realllllly long round. Other than that its a great course with challenging shots, greens, etc. But in way above par shape for Reno golf!

A little stressful

Course was good, greens slower than Wolf Run. The round was a little rushed and too stressful as one of our foursome brought his son and made it a five some which slowed our pace of play. When the course Marshall asked us to speed up that guy complained that we weren’t slow (and we were slow). I won’t play a five some again!!

Good day at Lakeridge

Course was in great shape. Only issue was the pace slowed on the back nine, but we still played in around 4.5 hours. Will definitely put this on my Reno rotation.
