first time playing in fallbrook golf course have a great time w/ my friend
the fairways need lots of attention they are to dry, but the greens are n a great shape
Very challenging course for a wayward tee shot, like mine.
As a single, I got off a little earlier than my tee time. Played in about 4 hours which was good. Course was in decent shape and the greens were nice.
Too Hard
I am a semi new player and this course was way to hard.
1. I lost 5 balls.
2. Some of the fairways were like hitting off the cement.
3. Way to narrow
4. Even the part 3s were challenging.
5. not good for beginners like me
Love this course.
Great value, course is in very good condition. Super friendly staff.
Nice course for Fallbrook
I enjoy this course because it is local for me. I have taken lessons from the pro there and have eaten at the restaurant. The pro is very positive and the restaurant has great meal deals and happy hour. The fairways are wide with some challenges such as trees and hills in the fairway and around the greens. Greens are in good shape. Cart paths are a little rough but make it fun none the less. Lots of creeks and scrub brush, so play cheap balls on those holes. I usually lose a few every time I play. Overall, I really enjoy this course and play it frequently. I learned to play only 5 months ago. So, I have not yet made par on any hole.
GolfNow internet price is the best value.
Greens were well kept, fairways fit the countryside look but needs some work. Overall though, using the GolfNow internet best value deals makes this worthwhile.
Large groups
Played this course several time, really enjoy it, but they need to enforce the speed of play with large groups, five or more should start on the back nine, this could help.. over all this is a good course for the dollar..
good pace
We went there playing on a weekday. It is not very crowed and we have had a very good pace to play. The staff are friendly. The fairway is in pretty good condition. We sure will go there again.
an enjoyable 4 1/2 hours...
We always enjoy Fallbrook...great value...nice people and a course that requires some discipline...
Nice Greens . . . interesting layout, not boring at all.
Really enjoyed the day out there. No pace of play issues at all, and greens were better than expected. Fairways were typical winter bermuda; not bad, but certainly not lush. Only negative for this course at all is that there are no blue tee boxes. I usually play white anyway, but my playing partners usually play blue. It's not a long course, so that may bother some. For me, it was a nice day for golf. I particularly like the feel of remote country as you make your way around. It would be nice to better understand the particulars of some fairway layouts (taper out left or right) if you haven't played there before. Score card map is of limited use. Again, I really enjoyed playing here.
frost damage fairways, greens good
This was a good value for the money. A lot of trees, need to playt target golf.
Confusing layout. Watch for stray balls.
The greens were in great shape but the fairways need a lot of work and overall course is in need of better cart paths and directional signage. Pretty confusing layout and hole crossovers.
There are a few scenic holes though and the winter (dead) grass, unmantained areas and blind runoff trenches were frustrating. Nice restaurant and bar though.
Try the Golf Club of America nearby for a better round.
Playing a windy day is tough
It was a bit of a drive for me to get to Fallbrook from Carlsbad. I played solo and got through the course in a flash. I found the course challenging but thought the fairways were a bit brown. The greens and tees were in good condition but in between needs some work. I would play there again when the weather is a bit nicer.
Nice course for the price
Course was in good shape for the season, greens were in great shape and fairways were in fair condition.
Nice greens!
Greens are in great shape. Many tress and some creeks to contend with. It is a little rustic on the edges and some fairways but overall challensges the gof and is a value play. Food and beverage are a plus....
Great course and laid out nicely
There is a charm about this course that will keep bringing you back. Great value and diverse layout from front 9 to back 9.
The course has good features, some could be improved.
Some fairways are very narrow directly beside each other. Oftentimes there were balls flying around from other fairways.
The fairways were hardpan - although this might be due to the time of year. Staff was friendly, and the outdoor cafe looked like it was more of a social gathering place. Greens were in really good shape, however very difficult because of uneven lies.
Great coures!
Beautiful "Old School" golf course. Lots of trees and gentle rolling hills. Country atmosphere, no highway noise. Nice range and practice area. Super staff, great food, and beverages, overall everything you need for a wonderful experience!
Fallbrook Golf Course is a Big Challenge
Fallbrook Golf Club is a tremendous challenge particularly the back nine. You start off on a hill hitting over the street and hitting it on a fairway that is pretty narrow and dog legs to the right. If you hit it too far right, though you find water and far left is into the houses. You have to hit a precise shot. The theme of this course is a bunch of trees. If you hit off the fairway on basically any hole you will find trees and makes your life very difficult. I have tried to play the course conservative by using hybrids, and using my driver and can't seem to avoid the trees off the fairways. The front nine is fair if you can hit the ball straight. It is long so bring your driver. The back nine gets narrower and narrower finally untill you get to 14 which is a nickel size fairway. Very intimidating hole. There are even trees in the middle of the fairway. This is one of the more difficult golfcourses for my game but if you do hit the ball straight you can score.
