Great fun course. Well laid out. A lot of bunkers, but well spaced. Greens true and very quick. Well worth the money. Highly recommend. We liked it so much we played it again a few days later.

About an hour from Myrtle Beach .Great shape for this time of year. Cart paths need some work. 6 Tee offs so anyone can play. For 35-40 bucks with a cart is a steal

Signature hole still challenging. Greens were in great condition and fast for time of year. Fairways are just coming in now. Tee boxes are in good shape. Pace of play can’t ask for any better. It’s too bad it’s 1hour and 15 minutes from North Myrtle Beach as would be playing more often.

This is an updated review. One of my earlier reviews stated that this would be one of the best bang for buck courses in SC by late 2023. Those expectations have been exceeded - Golf Digest experts have named Wellman Golf Club as America's Best Affordable New/Renovated Course for 2024. This is well-deserved, as conditions have continued to improve, and user reviews and expert opinions reflect it. The fairways are currently dormant but remain in good shape, greens continue to be in excellent condition, and improvements and beautification efforts continue to move forward (cart paths on front 9 are greatly improved, back 9 next). The story behind the course coupled with the layout, conditions, value, pace of play, and the wonderfully friendly staff make Wellman a must play if you are visiting Myrtle Beach, passing through, or living in the Carolinas. Wellman presents golf at its core, no frills, just like it should be and golf purists will appreciate every aspect.

This was my 2nd time playing it and will be back. Good layout, good conditions. They do not overseed but it doesn’t effect play. Greens were very fast and rolled GREAT.

This was my first time playing here. I decided to try it because it was a very good price I am very glad I did. It is NOT OVER SEEDED but although it was not green it was inVERY GOOD CONDITION. THE greens roll excellent. Very few playing because of cold weather so pace of play was perfect. I recommend this course and I will play it again. The. The only complaint I have is NO GPS of any kind for this course. They have 100 and 150 markers flat in the ground so you can’t see them unless you’re near them.

Played this course for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Got a fantastic deal on Golf Now so took advantage of it and was not disappointed. Fairways in winter conditions, but greens where in great shape. Will definitely play again.

Since the county took over this course it has seen continuous improvement. The greens roll fast and true, the fairways are in great shape, no weeds or bare spots. They don't overseed so those of you who aren't used to playing on dormant Bermuda (snow birds) might be thrown off a bit.

The course has a great layout. One of the last things they're working on is cart paths. The paths on the front nine have been improved and they're working on the back nine this year.
