Good day
On a busy Saturday morning and golfing in a foursome we got done in 4 and a half hours. The course was in good shape, the layout is forgiving as it was my first round of the year. The course is flat but all of the greens have slope to them so there aren't any straight putts. The only negative is that the traps aren't in good shape, too hard. Otherwise it is a course I would recommend.
nice fair golf layout, what you see is what you get.
Enjoyed the length and open fairways but still tough because of doglegs and trees.
Good value
Basic muni that is in good to great shape with excellent smooth and semi fast greens. Pace of play was great even without a Marshall present. Ball washers are the best I have seen at a golf course in the Phoenix metro area. Will definitely play again but one warning ; the last 5 holes are long and very tough (1 par 3 and 4 par 4's).
Odd grouping
While the course conditioning and layout are good for a municipal course, after being told the course was booked with foursomes a single showed up on the 3rd hole and another single left the group behind us and wanted to play through even though there was nowhere to go. No rangers, a little frustrating. Also, after the round they were out of several beverages that they showed they serve.
Great value
If you want to hit the ball, have fun, and not drop 100 bucks, hit this.
Wonderful introduction
My wife and I played 18 holes and were paired with two other men about our age. We had a wonderful day. The course was great -- easy enough for the first round of the season, yet challenging enough for better players. We will undoubtedly play here again.
Solid muni that is great for everyone.
Encanto is the 3rd oldest course in Az. It is a pretty flat, straight forward parkland style course. While not too exciting on the design side, it is kept in nice shape and is always very playable. This is a great course for seniors, juniors, families....etc,etc. The range, cafe and other facilities are what you expect from a typical muni course, all serviceable, but nothing fancy. It will give you a decent play, without breaking the bank........and did I mention, it's right in the heart of Phoenix?
A good warm up round
Played with my wife and we were matched with a local player who plays all of the munis in Phoenix. A wide open track with little trouble.
For my first round after a long Winter layoff, the course was very enjoyable. Greens rolled true. I will bring some friends back there this month
Your basic public course
Very basic course all the holes are pretty wide open the greens were in excellent shape fairways not so much.
Houston Visitor
Perfect Weather! Paired up with 3 nice guys and had a great day at the course before flying back to Houston. Course was crowded but the pace was smooth. Everyone was friendly and the food was good! Nice public course!
Slow pace of play, no parking
For the first time in my life, I walked off of a golf course without completing it.
First off, showed up and drove around for 15 minutes to find a parking spot due to an event next door at the park.
Once we made to the tee-time (on time) I have never experienced this slow of a pace in my life. We pulled up to the 3rd tee and there were 3 groups waiting to tee off. By the time we were ready to tee off ourselves, we were now 56 minutes into the round.
The pace, by no means, would ever be acceptable. We turned around and went home.
We had played there before (9 holes walking), but will never be back again.
Good value
Good value for the money and views of downtown Phoenix
Good experience
the course was in good shape and very enjoyable to play. it was busy but the pace was acceptable.
Old Reliable
Course is in very solid condition right now, a definite bargain for the average to middling golfer who like a little distance, testing greens but not too much trouble from tee to green.
Love The neighborhood
We waited on almost every hole to tee off. We still finished in 4 hours.
Encanto GC
Encanto is in good condition. no cmplaints other than pace of play at times, mostly around par 3's.
Sometimes 2 groups waiting for the 1st group to tee off. Don't see the cart lady much, maybe twice if your lucky while playing 18 holes. rate of play was/is 4 1/2-5 hrs.
Nice city course
Looked around to find a course with good reviews at a value price and found it here. Played on a holiday so expected slow play and it was, 5 hour round, teed off at 1:15 and finished as the sun went down at 6:15. My son and I got paired up with a wonderful couple from Calgary and we had a great time with them. Course condition was very nice, fairways were thick and green, medium pace greens which rolled pretty good. We will play this course again.
For a city course it's beautiful.
Overall course was great. Play a little slow during the front nine so I decided to not play the back nine but play the front again and there was no waiting finished 18 holes in 3 hours.
Great Condition
Course is in great shapeand played in just under 4 hrs. Great course for the average golfer.
