Grand Canyon University Golf Course (formerly known as Maryvale Municipal Golf Course) offers an 18-hole track designed by Ted Robinson, Sr. and built in 1961. The par-71 golf course measures 7,269 yards from the championship tees and is open year-round.

The Bermuda grass Grand Canyon University Golf Course gets plenty of shade during the summer, thanks to several onsite trees, and features flat and wide fairways.

The fourth hole, for one example, is a 160-yard par-3 where you'll have to shoot over the water - and past the brick wall that separates the green from the water.

Good course.

Fairways are good. Roughs and just that but playable. Quite a few similar holes - par 4s. Overall a decent layout and busy.

Nice course

GCU is a challenging layout with a nice variety of short, long and in between holes. Conditions were good except for a couple of fairway that were dried out and brown for some reason. The bad news was that we got behind the second slowest group on the course. Unfortunately, they were behind the slowest group on the course. Almost 5 hours. The slowest group let another group play through on 13. By the time the slowest group was done 15, the group that played through was hitting approaches to 18.. There was a ranger out, but it appears he was trying to keep Yogi from stealing picnic baskets (google that for the younger crowd)

Basic Course

This course was good. Pro shop staff acted like we interrupted their day, maybe it was just an off day for them. Course is worth playing it’s less expensive than others in the area.

Pace of play

No Marshall. 9 holes took 2.5 hours. First 2 on back 9 took 45 min. Had to leave early and not get in 3 holes because sun was going down. Tee time was 2:10 pm.. ridiculous.

Good basic golf

Easy course, only walkable course I've seen in the Phoenix area. Par 3's were challenging particularly with the wind.
