Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Grand Canyon University Golf Course (formerly known as Maryvale Municipal Golf Course) offers an 18-hole track designed by Ted Robinson, Sr. and built in 1961. The par-71 golf course measures 7,269 yards from the championship tees and is open year-round.
The Bermuda grass Grand Canyon University Golf Course gets plenty of shade during the summer, thanks to several onsite trees, and features flat and wide fairways.
The fourth hole, for one example, is a 160-yard par-3 where you'll have to shoot over the water - and past the brick wall that separates the green from the water.

Great Course Conditions
The course was in great condition despite the heat. Very few burn spots and soft, green fairways. The greens were smooth. Overall it was in a lot better condition than I expected for mid July.
Excellent summer greens
Best greens in the valley. Camelback comes close, but GCU takes the gold on green conditions.
grew up playing the course way before gcu re-did it and my curiosity was high, the course is beautiful and in fantastic shape, the changes gcu made , made courese much more difficult which was fun, i really enjoyed my round, for the price (pretty high for summer golf) id have expected a gps on carts that was disappointing, resaturant didnt have much in the way of food you could just grab and take along. but stricly rating the course really really enjoyed it
This course is in amazing shape. I've played it year-round, and it's in as good a shape now as it was in December and January. I can't over-state the work the ground screw has done. You're absolutely not going to find a course in better shape right now, and I say that having played TPC the day before and Rancho Mañana the day after. Do yourself and the rest of your foursome a favor and make a tee time.
Course is in good shape for summer. Fairways have a few bare spots for overall are very nice. Will be a good course to play this summer.
A favorite to play in Phoenix
I really do like playing this course. Unfortunately the greens were freshly aerated so they were slow and bumpy. Course seems to hold up well in the hot Phoenix summer with very few bare areas. No problem playing out of the Bermuda rough.
Good but hot.
For the price all was great . Didn't have lots of interactions with staff.i would gladly do it again when not so hot.. just go there and have fun.
Maybe one day they will give you a notice when you book that you are putting on just airified greens!
Course is going downhill. Played here before the Uni took over and just when they renovated the course. It was back then in better shape. No water stations on the course!
Greens are awesome!
This is one of my favorite courses in the valley! The course is in transition right now, so the fairways are a little rough, but the greens are always pure. I am excited to come back once the summer grass comes in. The staff always makes sure my guests and I feel welcomed. 10/10 would recommend.
