Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

The course was in good condition despite extreme summer heat. The bunkers were not that great which is typical for most courses. Good value overall. The staff are friendly and helpful. Make sure you get ice and water at the clubhouse before starting. The was no water out on the course.
Glad you were able to come out and play. Just to let you know we are currently taking out some fairway bunkers on the course, so they are not maintained and marked for a free drop. We recently installed chilled water fountains at the halfway points (restrooms) on each side front 9 and back. Thanks again for coming out and playing, also enduring the 100+ weather.

Course in good shape
Played 18 yesterday morning at 8 am. Finished the round in less than 3 hours. Course is in good shape for this time in June. Greens were holding, fairways a little spotty but to be expected. Definitely recommend playing this course.
Thanks for coming out and playing and enduring the 100+ weather.
Getting better
Course conditions are improving at UHCC. The fairways are nice and the greens are rolling true. Still don't have water fountains, so make sure you have some before teeing it up.

Other than the pace....
Everything was great other than the pace of play. Over 5 hours...I think because the tee times are 7 minutes apart and they let way too many twosomes out
High price for condition
I have played this course a couple times now. For the price of $75 this course is not worth the money due to its poor condition. Greens had aeration holes, bunkers were full of rocks and mud. Fairways were in good condition. Would not pay more than $50 to play again.
Good condition-Great value
The course was in good condition. Greens were rolling good. Pace of play was great. Got a great deal so it was a fun day. Definitely recommend.
Just ok
Course was ok, lots of leaves on the fairway.
Grass was turning brown. There was a momma coyote nursing baby’s that was interesting She didn’t act to friendly when I was headed to my ball so I took a drop and got out of her way
Could use some TLC but a fun course
Greens: great shape and very consistent .
Fairways: narrow landing area but very good shap.
Rough: lots of area burnt out but the are mowed and trimmed, creek areas are trimmed as well.
Bunkers: lots labeled ground under repair. Bunkers around the greens were in good shape. Some of them need new sand, too many rocks.
Staff: informative but not very friendly and welcoming.
Upon arrival the buildings looked run down. Much to our surprise the course was very playable. It was a good day.
Nice course
Nice course, good conditions and getting better with new ownership. Tee boxes need some work.
Dated
We have Golfed this course a lot over the past 5 years. They haven’t updated the Facilities, especially the 19th watering hole. The course is ok but the fairway bunkers haven’t been touched.
It is way too expensive for what you get.
We will golf it again, once the prices come down.
I hope the new owners spend some money and update everything
Staff is miserable
Looks like a dump from the street, but once you walk in it looks pretty good. The course layout is fantastic. Green complexes are big and in great shape. The fairways were in good shape, but some of tee boxes were in terrible shape. Like having a side hill lie. It’s strange, a tee box is really easy to level and redo! It has a grass driving range. OK, here is the critical part of the review. The staff (other than the cart guy) was about as unfriendly as it gets. The pace of play was close to 6 hours. I asked the Marshal why there were 5 groups on a par-5 and he said it was one too many, but it will pick up! One too many??? He was rude as could be. We literally waited 10-15 minutes on every tee box, and he had the audacity to ask us to keep up with the group in front of us! Spend your money somewhere else. Literally 40 course with 10 miles of this place.
Horrible pace of play
Ended up not finishing the full round cause it would’ve taken well over 6 hours. We were at 2 hours riding up to hole 7 and there was 2 full 4-somes waiting to hit. Ranger kept coming around and just saying “sorry please have patience” as we are sitting at every tee box for 10 min waiting to hit. There was one group of 4 that was nearly 2 holes behind the group in front of them that was slowing the whole course up and they wouldn’t do anything to speed them up.. Ranger should have asked that group to skip a hole instead of driving around apologizing to everyone waiting. Shame cause course has a fun layout and overall decent conditions besides the rough. Won’t be back here. The other time I played there was pace of play issues as well
Great course for average golfer
It's a great course for an average golfer. Wide fairways, big greens, good price. Some of the greens need some TLC before the summer heat gets here.
