Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Fun round
We had a great round at UHGC. The course layout is easy and not boring. Fairways are a bit bare, but the greens were in good shape. And the grounds are beautiful, lots of shade, and very pleasant. We played on Sat at 6:30 am and did not really see anyone ahead or behind us. Played in 3 hrs. For $45 on GolfNow, this was great value and I would definitely play again
Hit or Miss
Have played a few times this year, last time in April when the course was in awful shape. This time it was much better. They do close early with the last tee times going out around noon. Also not much in the way of snacks so I’d recommend bringing your own water. Lastly nobody was out there when I played so got to play a solo 18 in around 2 hours.
Neglected but fun
The overall layout was fine. Good challenge from any tee. Back tees allow Driver on majority of holes. Right fairways and a few water hazards on some holes. Good condtion for most part. Golf carts are old gas carts. Fairways a little dry but it's that time of year. Greens had a few rough patched and weird lawn equipment damage. Playable but ugly. I'm going to play it again. Good price for the challenge.
Pretty good course
The service was great. The course was a good challenge. The conditions are a little average for this time of year. The pace of play was horrible today. There is no Marshall to help with this issue out there so beware. I was waiting on every tee shot. I don't know if it was just the group ahead or if we were too stacked. It was hot and we were trying to find shade to keep us from melting as we waited. It is a drive from Phoenix to Sun City and that was not too bad but it just seems like we should have a better pace of play. A few of the greens ere under some sort of repair and there was a couple of greens that had damage from tractors and mowers. Not greatest condition.
Poor Conditions
Tee time was at 922, I was rushed to the tee at 9:05. The course conditions were not great. A fair amount of the greens were covered in sand, the fairways are mostly grass (although dying out) but the rough is weeds/dirt.
They allowed a group of 6 to go out together which slowed everything down.
Terribly disappointed
Although I enjoy the course layout and have played the course several times a year over the last 10 years, the course is in the worst condition I have ever seen. I was anxious to bring a couple friends to experience what I thought would be a great day. I spent rather whole round apologizing for the course conditions. Dried out, taken over by weeds, splotchy greens, bunkers harder than concrete . Won’t be returning. Too many good courses in the area to risk another crappy round. Sorry, but true!
Except for greenside bunkers course in good condition
Good course but poor upkeep
It appears Union Hills is in it's unconcerned stage. Fairways were nice but rough was poorly maintained. It is just bumpy grass every where. Looks like it's not being watered or mowed. Lots of unkempt areas around course, especially the tee boxes, that just made it visually unappealing which is too bad as many homes on course have been nicely upgraded and refreshed. Greens were very slow and some should have had a blower nearby so we could clean the debris off of them. The course is a great layout, challenging but very fair. Have company coming for a week but won't be visiting Union Hills any time soon.
