Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Slow play
I love playing this course but today had a beginning foursome in front of us with little golf knowledge. Took over 5 hours to play 18. No ranger on course today. Usually play this course in 3 to 4 hours.
Another 5 hour round, not coming back.
Another painfully slow round. Terrible greens and poor pin placements make for a lethargic day as you wait endlessly for the group ahead to 3 and 4 putt. No ranger to keep slow players moving. GPS randomly tells you to keep pace while you are staring at the group in front of you who is waiting on the group in front of them. We started a half hour late because they did not have enough carts. News flash*** If you kept the players pace moving at under 4 hours you would not have a cart problem. The grass on the greens are cut just above the hard packed dirt. This makes the putting surface very fast. Let the greens grow out a little. Give the ball something to hang on to. The pin placements were just ridiculous. Placing the pins on slopes where the ball cannot stop is just plain stupid. This course attracts too many amateur players for incredibly difficult pins. This just slows down play even more. Most of these pins would be considered an illegal pin placement. You need to have your superintendent review the rules for pin placement. He failed for most of them. All of the issues listed above are self inflicted wounds. All of them are easily remedied. This just shows overall poor management or a lack of caring about the golf experience and more about getting your money.

Teed off 90 minutes after scheduled T time. They refused to accommodate, no range balls in machine, no carts, teed off 90 minutes after scheduled T time. Stay away! 100 other courses I’ll take my money to in the future.
Good value
Good course for the price. Conditions were fine, very dry and hard pan off the fairways.
OK
Course has good bones but is a bit tired. Slow front nine took 3hrs, 2 groups of SIX allowed to play , some holes had 3-4 groups at tee box ! Greens, bunkers and fairways were good but rough had many areas with no grass.
Poor maintenance
Greens are pitted from balls and fairway fringe is hard like concrete. Over booking really bad. Paid for 18 and only got to play 9 holes.
Tough
The greens are so hilly, hard to putt. Ground is super hard and other than the fairways hard to hit off of.
Progress
There is some great work going on but the pace was terrible on the front nine and better on the back nine.
OK Course
This course is much too expensive considering it’s just an average course at best. Besides the green fees, there are taxes and water fees added on make it cost over $100 per round. This is a $60 course in my opinion. Won’t be back.
Hot Booty
I have never played a course where the pace of play was 3 hours to get theough 9 holes. Truly amazing how poorly spaced the tee times were, along with the inability of anyone on the course to move faster than a snail.
The staff was so nice
Very impressed with everyone we encountered from pro shop to bag drop to snack bar … could not have been nicer and more welcoming - a very nice change compared to most courses in the Vallay.
