Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Big disappointment
I rarely give a poor review, but here it comes. Tee boxes were chewed up. Should have overseed more of the course. Traps are hard pan. Greens were ridiculous. Faster than u.s. open greens. Some putts up hill would come back to you. Down hill putts would roll off the greens. I won't be back.
Very slow play
The best thing about this course is the staff! Everyone we came across was just great, super friendly and helpful! Unfortunately the pace of play was sooo slow, and other than the beverage cart with a minimal selection of canned drinks and the outdoor bar at the turnaround, there were few amenities otherwise. Too bad, this course has potential and a great staff but lacks any offerings that makes it a repeat.
Turtle Pace
Pace was slow I didn’t even finish my round. 2.5 hrs to play
front 9 and despite calling the pro shop nothing was done about it as there is no marshal.
New Ownership
I've played here multiple times over the year's, playing it for the first time this year and as i'm sitting waiting to be called for my time I see a FIVESOME teeing off went to starter and ask what's up with the FIVESOME he advised me that NEW OWNERSHIP is now allowing FIVESOMES absolutly RIDICULOUS, then they let a 3some tee off with 3 players and 2 sets of clubs and then 2 moreFIVESOMES tee off took almost 2 hours to play 4 holes, Ownershiip needs to relook at there Policy;s I would recommend this course if your not stuck be hind multiple FIVESOMES and people sharing clubs the course and layout are really nice
miss managed
I have played here for the last 14 years, always considered it a Great course for the Value, it is my understanding that it's under new ownership which I can see the improvements but I have no idea were they got the idea to start letting FIVESOMES out and people out that share clubs, it took us almost 2 hours to play 4 holes totally ridiculous. I think managment needs to look over there policy"s and maybe go back to the old way, I would recommend playing here as long as your weren't" stuck behind a FIVESOME.
Tough greens
Fairway and greens are in great shape, but if you miss either it can be tough. Greens are hard, fast and very hilly but they are pure.
It takes 5 hours to play here so plan accordingly.
The course needs to fix the greens. Severe slopes and terrible pin placements make for a very slow and painful day. The grass on the greens is cut too close and then it is rolled smooth. It is like putting downhill on a linoleum floor. There is nothing to stop the ball. It just rolls off with the barest of touches. Let the greens grow out a little so the ball has something to hang on to. The slopes on the greens are just ridiculous. I'm sure they think that the greens is what makes the course more challenging. Sure, if I want to play goofy golf. The pace of play was awful. 5 hours to play is way too long. Having to wait 15 to 20 minutes per hole is not reasonable. This is what you get with poor greens and amateur players.
Severe slope in greens
Course was nice but whoever designed these greens should never do it again. We had single handicap players and had three and four putts if you were above or had a side hill putt. Even putted off the green. Course was in decent conditions but the green contours and pin placements were not fun.
Happy New Year
Good course and a fair price for winter golf. We’ll be back very soon. Keep up the good work.
Adios Amigos
Nice course ruined by restrictive GPS
We’ve played this course many, many times. I admit that since the new ownership took over, the course has improved a lot. However, they now have golf carts with GPS and when you enter a “prohibited” area, the GPS locks the golf cart and you have to go in reverse, at snail’s pace, to an open area. The problem is that the prohibited areas are NOT marked!! There were only 2 holes where there was a marker in front of the green and in both times, the golf cart got locked BEFORE we even reached the sign!!! You used to be able to drive on par 3’s. No longer, but on 2 of them, they don’t warn you. So the cart locks up. My friend got so angry that we’re probably not coming back here, even though we really like the course.
Hurry up, I like this course!
Pace of play was a real issue. Teed off about 15-minutes late and waited before we could hit every shot on the frontside. Three hours to play nine holes. The back nine was faster, 2:15 because several groups dropped out at the turn. The course is a solid track, fairways and greens are in good shape and very playable. Rough is beat up so stay in the fairway.
