Tricky because of bare runoffs on slopes

Three people behind the counter not looking at us. So we just stood there staring at them till one of them was finally uncomfortable enough to ask if we needed help. I dunno standing in front of the starters desk emptyhanded you think they could figure out we were checking in for a tee time..."we have no carts now" come back in ten minutes? I asked where were the scorecards and one of them pointed to an empty box and said "they should be there"...right... but there were none as it was...empty. Let me see if I can find them...omg it went on like that. Not rude exactly, but more clueless. There's more but we will skip it. Once we did get on the course I though it was a fun layout but the greens did not hold well, a number of pin high shots with wedges did not even stay on the fringes but went over the green long. Couple that with hard sloped areas around the greens made me have to play short links style shots. Greens were a little lumpy with ok speed so hard to get straight putts in the hole unless you had an uphill putt that you could ram in. Putts wandered left and right. No ball marks for the most part as the green would not hold as I said. The big issue is the fairways... not that they are terrible but they tend to be a bit bare and have runoffs into trouble with no real 1st or 2nd cut. On a couple holes people hit ok drives but because of the bare runoffs they lost their golf balls. A few of the hole there are even signs "only use irons" for a par 4 ? really? We did have fun because it was a bit like mini golf in places but if you miss a back pin on a par three by a yard or two should your ball be unfindable? I mean you will find a bunch of balls just maybe not yours. The course also seemed secluded just because of the layout. A part of the lower rating is if you hit a normal 260yd drive with draw up the RIGHT of the fairway it may not stay on the fairway at all. Same for fades in the left side. That's a problem... if you are a short hitting bogey type golfer you may do better because you don't have ball speed to roll though fairways and you won't hit greens with a second shot so no worries about greens not holding.

hot deal treat

My husband and I played this course on Sunday afternoon after securing a hot deal at $32 per player.

The fairway conditions have lots of rooms for improvement and the greens can be better too. Some greens were damaged horribly.

The pace of play was okay thanks to the marshalls cruising the course, but since this course has lots of par-3 holes, it's pretty slow.

Overall we enjoyed our golf round at a best deal green fee found on Golf now app.

We are willing to play this course again with the same special price, not a dime more.

Poor customer service and arbitrary rules

I played this course recently and it was a by far the worst experience golfing at a muni I’ve ever had. It started when I checked in, I was told I would be riding with another single. I had already paid and asked if I could walk instead and be refunded my cart fee. They said they couldn’t do a refund since it was a prepaid round, okay fine. I ask how they were doing on time and she let me know they were behind pace and I would have time to hit putts and warm up; I checked in about 30 mins before my time. So I do and check the time, it’s 2 mins past my tee time so I walk over to the tee box and the started told me that my group teed off on time. Awesome. He said I can head out and catch up with the group. Now the course. I’m not being sarcastic, but we waited about 20 mins on every tee box. The group in front of me had 3 carts with 2 single riders. The course was what you’d expect from a muni; slow soft greens with dead patches, some good fairways, some bad fairways. Overall average course, but the pace and horrid customer service and arbitrary policies made the course a disgrace. Play elsewhere for the money.

Love the layout. Greens are in great condition but fairways need some work.

Garbage can or garbage disposal comes to mind.

Can you guys get a greens keeper that knows how to grow fairway grass. The greens look like a freaking world map. There’s like 6 different grass growing on there. I have to hope to get a good bounce on putting on those greens.

Fullerton course

Facility has range, chip and putting. Nice staff in shop. Cafe not open its full hours. Course itself fairly challenging due to very narrow fairways. Quite a few hazards and areas to lose your balls. A lot of par 3’s on the course. Course conditions were spotty. Many tee boxes were hard pack dirt/grass. Greens were fast on many holes. Many elevation changes. Hitting up to greens were challenging. Interesting course overall but the cost is pretty high based on the conditions of the tee areas and fairways. Houses are lining the course in many areas and you can only hit your irons on certain holes. Range was fairly large with a lot of mats to accomodate a good number of people. Course was not very crowded but we did typically wait a few or 5 min before we could tee off. Likely a lot to do with back to back to back par 3’s.

Shot 69

Eagle on 17 was the highlight and the pins were tucked by the fringe on most holes… a solid 69 with -4 on the last 6 holes
