The Stadium Course at PGA WEST

Course layout and conditions were excellent.

Staff very friendly.

Course was in excellent shape. The negative edge greens were rock hard and would not even hold a wedge. No ball marks to fix the entire round even after hitting the center of the green . Needs a little water for amateurs. maybe 2 ball washers . The GPS unit did not have a magnified green function for more precise distance and for the price i might expect ball washers and club cleaner on the cart. So, it was beautiful and well manicured, but I’d expect a few more amenities for the price that other courses provide. for a reality check, the 17th. Green is an island. Green and I saw multiple people hit the Green but not a single Ball stayed. all of them rolled off the back. Including my pitching wedge.

Play was almost five hours teeing off mid day. Marshall’s were seldom seen and did nothing.

Awesome track. Super hard for amateurs. Don’t think a over 10 handicap should play for pace of play purposes but loved it

The course was in good condition, but could have been better for the price. Lots of bare spots, bunkers were not raked in several places and pace of play was slow. The course as a whole is very difficult. Played the blue/while combo tees to reduce the difficulty, but it still required precise irons to hard greens. Without tour level trajectories there was a lot of roll out. I felt like it was over priced compared to other courses in the area that were in better condition.

Majority of the courses in the Palm Springs area are worth playing, but Stadium is another level up. If you want a real challenge play the tips. If you want to have fun move up. Staff great, conditions fantastic, weather superb. Who could ask for more than another Dye masterpiece. I would play here over Sawgrass if I had to choose.

Great course located in a beautiful setting. Pristine fairways, greens extremely firm, but quite marked as players don’t seem to be very diligent at repairing pitch marks which is a shame.

The course was in fantastic shape. Second time playing it; course was much more difficult than I remember. That being said, I would go back to play in a heartbeat.

Make sure you practice your short game, as the green complexes were quite difficult, with runoffs/collection areas around most greens.

A must play if you’re in the area! We came to came to La Quinta for my Wife’s 50th birthday and she allowed me to play a couple days after her celebration, since it was a bucket list course. Unfortunately we didn’t get play all 18 due our tee time at 2:06 pm. That’s the only downside of trying to save a couple hundred bucks, the morning rate was super expensive.. I was able to go in front a few player as the sun was setting and play Alcatraz! We definitely plan to return for my 50th birthday in May and I’m paying the extra to get the entire round in!

The experience was poor and not worth the time and effort. Too many other great courses in this area to bother with the Stadium Course. To pay around $500 for a round and to have a 5 hour and 20 minute round on a poorly conditioned course isn’t worth it.

Not sure if the rangers slept in that day, but we would often have three groups on the same hole waiting 5-15 minutes to hit a shot and we had a 9:54a tee time. Can’t imagine anyone teeing off after 12:30 finished before sunset.
