Challenging course
Course in great shape greens were punched but putts still were playable. Great deal for this course
Diabolical
Course is an awesome condition. The hardest course I have played that is not in Hawaii. You have to hit it straight !
Course in Great Shape
Course is in as good a condition as I have ever seen it and well worth the play.
BJ Ghuman
Overall excellent. Tough and narrow, very challenging. If you like challenge go play at Babe. You would love it.
Tough course that needs local knowledge
Industry Hills is a very good but tough course. You really have to have some local knowledge or have played it a few times to know where to hit it and miss it. Some really tough long par 4s and par 3s. Very tricky layout with big elevation changes. The course has some very unique holes and no hole is the same.
It is very nice setting in the middle of urban SoCal. Feels more secluded than it is. The course conditions I played were very good. It was much greener than a few other SoCal golf courses I played.
Both courses get a fair amount of play because the LPGA has played there for the Kia Classic. However, the "Ike" course is supposed to be the signature course.
Few things I don't like. Not a big fan of blind shots and big elevation changes. It is pretty much a cart golf course. I don't think they allow walking on the Ike course. Practice facilities are not very good and spread all over different places on the property. Lastly, there are quite a few holes that are cart path only. Some make sense because of the danger, but some doesn't seem unnecessary.
All in all it is a fun course and conditions are good, but you definitely have to get to know it.
The Babe
Excellent. Review doesn't need to be long to give a good review. One word "excellent "
Best of the Best
One of the top public courses in Southern California. Felt like I was in Monterey. From the 4th hole on it had the feel of Spyglass. A must play. Narrow faireays. Not for the faint of heart.
Great Golf.
Best golf value around! Greens were in terrific shape. Course was a little damp. Otherwise great shape.
Best round ever
I was please to see the course in such good ahape. Some holes were cart path only (4-5 of them) which socks but not a deal breaker. The greens were consistent and rolled nicely albeit not super fast. Ended up shooting my personal best 75 on the Babe course. The tee shots are tight and many holes don't require a driver...better off putting it in the fairway here as most u forgivable trouble is off the tee. Good play but slow pace with lots of non-English speaking players on the course.
Fun, Fair Challenge of a Course
Ran out here for the first 18 of the new year while the family did another day in Anaheim, and I'm very glad I went. Friendly staff, surprisingly good food from the snack bar for how quick the orders are ready. Ended up getting paired up with two locals who were quite welcoming.
The Ike course was in great shape with nearly every hole delightfully catching the eye. I'm told this is the more open of the two 18s at the resort, and I would agree that course _plays_ open despite the impressive tree lines - for the most one has opportunity to recover from misplays rather than penalizing every miss. The greens were quite fast and in pretty good shape as well.
I admit, the tee box for the other course ("Babe") also looked quite engaging - I look forward to going back to try the other course. I would highly recommend the Ike course for a single golfer or group.
excellent course condition
almost perfect for overall except front desk at pro shop. His personality look bad mood all the time.
Great Course, awesome facilities
This course is worth the drive out of LA proper. It can get a little expensive but snatch up a hot deal and its way worth it.
Never disappoints
When I get the opportunity to play this course, meaning when I find an online deal, I'm excited because the layout is beautiful and it's well maintained.
S L O W pace
The course was in fair condition. However, it could be so much better. The greens were soggy, but the ball rolled way more than expected--that was kind of strange. The pace of play was woeful. Could ot play more than 13 holes in 4 hour, so we just left. The Babe Course is very winding, thus forcing playera to draw or fade shots--just hitting the ball straight won't do you much here. Also, there are lots of trees that get in the way. Keep that in mind. If you are a novice player--bogie or more strokes per round--you will not enjoy this course.
extremely good course but challenging
nice challenging course.
You can not see any forward or back groups.
green and fairways are well maintained.
can not comparable to any course.
recommend to anybody but not for high handicapper.
prepare many balls
Great afternoon round
Jumped ahead as I was a single & finished in 2.5 hours. Felt like a private Country Club round & loved the fairways @ greens!
too much care for course not players.
First time at Babe. Booked threesome and a single player joined us. We expected him to use his own cart but the club house insisted that only 2 carts are allowed for each group so one of us had to share the cart with a stranger. They also mis-assigned the cart and spent 15 minute to figure out where the cart is rather than assigning another available one. (there were more than 10 carts at the clubhouse)
Tight management of facilities and course is good but it shouldn't give inconvenience to players.
Worth Trying
Nice Course, good shape. Better be straight...narrow at times. Played day after rain and had to stay on cart path - not happy about that. Good, otherwise.
FIVESOMES = Never gonna like this place
5SOMES. I saw at least 2 of them out there this afternoon, teeing off after 1pm, sllowed us down all day. 5 hours 40 minutes on a Tuesday when nobody walks the course, the sun nearly set! Waited for 20 minutes on 10th tee. Marshals are useless and don't do anything; could've, should've split the 5somes into 2s and 3somes and moved them along, and/or forced them to allow the groups behind them through. It's their fault all around for letting 5somes out, and the players' fault for being rude in continuing to play as hacking 5somes that could hardly keep the ball in the fairway let alone the rough! They had no business playing this course. The course itself was a bit soggy in parts from the rain we had over the last couple days, the greens were springy and not as fast but definitely bumpy and liked to show the nice footprints from the soft conditions which made putting a laugh. The bunkers (I went into 4 of them), all had way too many pebbles and stones, I can show you the marks they made on 2 of my clubs. A total disgrace. Especially when they charge you this much.
You can't very well walk the place because there is no way to get to the 10th hole from the 9th without having to ride the cart, you could easily slip and fall over walking down the hill on 2 and 4, the gap between the 6th and 7th hole is ridiculous. Then having to play cart-path only made it almost impossible for anybody to keep good pace, especially those groups of 5somes that couldn't hit anything straight.
Save your money, go spend it somewhere else.
