Wow, Babe
I'm at Pelican Hill every day, but I was blown away by the Babe course when I walked up to the pro shop and first tee. Incredible fairways and just a few pitch marks on the greens. Very tricky putts, and a little confusing to get around your first time. You can get around well with a 3 wood (I don't have a driver) Had a lot of nice drives but screwed up a lot of short irons. Every part of your game is necessary here. Don't expect to make many putts, just get it on the green. Fell in love with this course, will definitely try Ike and come back for more Babe.
Perfect vs Price
Everythkngs good. Landscape. Game face,
Well designed course.
Almost perfect vs price.
Rude twosomes and unresponsive marshall proshop
We were enjoying until 13th and one of the twosomes behind us started calling our names. We called proshop to send marshall to resolve before things get escalated. No one came we were so frustruated and ruined our nice expensive round. The food was great especially they made real crispy calamari. We will think real hard to go back again.
Great Mother's Day
Played the Babe course with my daughter and had a great time. Checked in 30 minutes before our time and were able to get right on. It started out fast then slowed down when we reached the foursome ahead. After 3 holes, they let us play though and we were able to finish the round in under 4 hours. The course was in great condition, facilities clean and maintained. Would definitely play again. Great rate through Golf Now.
Babe Course
This course is all about how you manage your game. Target Golf or Risk Reward. A great course and I look forward to playing the Babe again. A few greens (three) included standing water which should not happen. The game is hard enough without putting or chipping through puddles.
I love this place and you will too!
We arrived (twosome) about an 45 mins early and the starter let us go right out. Not at all busy. The course was in great shape, with extremely well manicured fairways, bunkers and greens. The greens rolled surprising true and were a pleasure to putt on. The Babe course certainly has some awesome holes. Some of the tee boxes have tight shoots and are intimidating so you need to have a bit of nerve to strike it well, otherwise you'll be in the trees. Playing for the white's makes it a lot easier, but if you are a real thrill seeker, I recommend teeing it up from the tips... and bring extra balls! I highly recommend Industry Hills if you want to golf on a real golf course!! We didn't buy food, so I really can't comment, but the outside dinning "Red" looks like an excellent place to grab lunch and a beer. Great deal from GolfNow!!!
Beautiful and challenging
I've played this course a hand full of times and have not been disappointed yet. The course is in great shape fairways are tight overall a great experience for the price. It has a resort type feel I would recommend this course to my friends.
Great course, average condition
I've played the Babe many times and always enjoy it. It is a very challenging course, even for a low handicapper and it is a great value (especially if you book online). The only criticism I have relates to course conditions - the fairways were over-watered and more importantly, the greens were way too slow. One of the things i look forward to at Industry Hills are firm, fast (even treacherous) greens. On the midweek day I played, the greens were bumpy and running at no more than 8. I was hoping/expecting better.
A great course without a resort ease.
The Babe is a great course that is in an amazing shape. Though part of a resort, the Babe is NOT a resort course. Most tee shots require a very tactical approach as bunkers are laid out to make you think about your club and shot selection (the driver is definitely not the club off of every tee). There are few adjoining holes, and even when they are mature trees make it difficult to recover from errant shots. Hazard/o.b. stakes line the fairways on just about every par 4, so if a low score is your goal, you may have to sacrifice short approach shots for being in the fairways.
Overall, the fairways are in excellent shape. The greens are just beautiful, with bunkers guarding most of your approaches, requiring proper targeting decisions and accurate shot lengths. The greens themselves are frequently deceptive but fair and definitely not gimmicky.
BUT, the course is great. I will definitely play it again as this course is likely to make my list of favorite courses to play in and around Los Angeles.
Expectations met
This course was everything the hype built it up to be. Awesome course(Babe) can't wait to come back and play the Ike course. Only thing I wish they would give you a discount on balls when purchased by the dozen...payed $36 bucks for 2-sleeves of Pro-V1s...not a big complaint at all overall well worth it. Again can't wait to come back.
Sweet!!!!
Course is always in good shape. Bunkers, fairways , tee boxes & greens.
staff and facility
course very good condition but I felt that facility is only for resort people. people whom came early at golf club but there are no place to wait and practice place of which I do not know about this golf club due to first time place
fFun time with good friends
Other than the gnats, we had a great time. We knew the greens were just punched, so expected them to be slow, but was surprised how well the y actually were, props to the maintenance crew.
not as tough as in the old days, but still a class act and challenging
once upon a time the "Babe" felt almost ridiculous, it was "keep your driver in the bag" tight and tough. it's a bit more forgiving now, it's opened up a bit, the greens are not as crazy fast, but it is still a challenge and a delight to play.
Great but challenging course, friendly staff
First time playing IH, but will definitely be back. Great course- played the IKE course which was quite challenging. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pace of play on a Saturday afternoon was awesome.
Great weekend day of golf
The babe was playing nicely this weekend. The Fairways were green and lush, but the occasional mudball in the fairway from some of the recent rain. Greens were putting pretty well. Overall a nice day of golfing. The pace of play was decent....about 4.5 hours for us to finish our round.
This course has great variety
Fair test of golf with forgiving fairways and greens that will get your attention. I will be extending my stay in California so I can play the Babe course. Other than the moderately slow play it was very enjoyable.
Great course
Best bang for your buck. Course was in great shape
What a disappointment!!
Only when you get to the pro-shop, do they let you know that you can't take the buggy to the range, you have to carry your bag etc out there and back. And no shuttle service either - time of the season, they say... Only when you get to the range, do you realize that the range guy takes cash only!!?? And at the range, you realize that the putting area is closed. BTW - staff not overly friendly... Only when you are about to start your round, do they tell you that 80% of the holes are cart path only, which means you have to walk back and forth and carry a bunch of clubs with you to your ball. Pace ridiculously slow, one marshall on the course, but not tough enough to speed up the crawling pace. 5.5 hrs for our round!!! Greens extremely fast, hole locations were ridiculous on most holes, as if placed there on purpose! Rented clubs (called ahead and made rez), clubs were dirty, old, and the sets not complete. Asked for an espresso after the round (it's resort, for crying out loud!!?), they said the espresso machine is off because of the time of season... Really!!??
I don't know if this is acceptable for an 80 dollar round? Took my guests there, and it was an embarrassment...
one of the greatest short course in Southern California
Book Babe on GolfNow and got a great deal. The day was perfect for golf, not hot nor cold. The fairways were in great condition and the greens were exceptional. Though the course is short, it was challenging. Image the LPGA professionals played here, and the view Louie, the view it may not be like Torrey Pines but it was something to see. If you want to challenge your course management, I say bring it to this course and see how good you are. By the way the restaurant has great service and food. After the game nothing beats a great massage. Thank you GolfNow and Babe for a great game of golf.
