Golfer Reviews
Best Course in SoCal under $100
Disclaimer: Was able to get a tee time for $70 on a Friday through GolfNow; rack rate is $110 on the weekend in the morning.
Man, I haven't played a course that green and lush in SoCal in years. Course is in excellent shape, played at a decent pace (somehow the twosome in front of our threesome was holding us up...) and a challenging lay-out. 100% coming back.
F Hills un at the Babe
The Babe was fun but very challenging. The course was in very good condition. Pace of play was good.
The staff at Industry Hills are always helpful.
This course is awesome
Been playing this course for many years...just love it! Very challenging course, greens are fast and always in great shape! One of my favorite courses!
Never disappoints........
While the greens were recently punched, I'll give IHPR Babe course a pass.
Because every previous round I've played here have been excellent green and fairway conditions!
It's just an outstanding layout!
Greens....
This babe course has super slow greens.....for the price...I rather play somewhere else
Challenging course
Course in great shape greens were punched but putts still were playable. Great deal for this course
Diabolical
Course is an awesome condition. The hardest course I have played that is not in Hawaii. You have to hit it straight !
Course in Great Shape
Course is in as good a condition as I have ever seen it and well worth the play.
Tough course that needs local knowledge
Industry Hills is a very good but tough course. You really have to have some local knowledge or have played it a few times to know where to hit it and miss it. Some really tough long par 4s and par 3s. Very tricky layout with big elevation changes. The course has some very unique holes and no hole is the same.
It is very nice setting in the middle of urban SoCal. Feels more secluded than it is. The course conditions I played were very good. It was much greener than a few other SoCal golf courses I played.
Both courses get a fair amount of play because the LPGA has played there for the Kia Classic. However, the "Ike" course is supposed to be the signature course.
Few things I don't like. Not a big fan of blind shots and big elevation changes. It is pretty much a cart golf course. I don't think they allow walking on the Ike course. Practice facilities are not very good and spread all over different places on the property. Lastly, there are quite a few holes that are cart path only. Some make sense because of the danger, but some doesn't seem unnecessary.
All in all it is a fun course and conditions are good, but you definitely have to get to know it.
Best of the Best
One of the top public courses in Southern California. Felt like I was in Monterey. From the 4th hole on it had the feel of Spyglass. A must play. Narrow faireays. Not for the faint of heart.
Great Golf.
Best golf value around! Greens were in terrific shape. Course was a little damp. Otherwise great shape.
Best round ever
I was please to see the course in such good ahape. Some holes were cart path only (4-5 of them) which socks but not a deal breaker. The greens were consistent and rolled nicely albeit not super fast. Ended up shooting my personal best 75 on the Babe course. The tee shots are tight and many holes don't require a driver...better off putting it in the fairway here as most u forgivable trouble is off the tee. Good play but slow pace with lots of non-English speaking players on the course.
Fun, Fair Challenge of a Course
Ran out here for the first 18 of the new year while the family did another day in Anaheim, and I'm very glad I went. Friendly staff, surprisingly good food from the snack bar for how quick the orders are ready. Ended up getting paired up with two locals who were quite welcoming.
The Ike course was in great shape with nearly every hole delightfully catching the eye. I'm told this is the more open of the two 18s at the resort, and I would agree that course _plays_ open despite the impressive tree lines - for the most one has opportunity to recover from misplays rather than penalizing every miss. The greens were quite fast and in pretty good shape as well.
I admit, the tee box for the other course ("Babe") also looked quite engaging - I look forward to going back to try the other course. I would highly recommend the Ike course for a single golfer or group.
Great Course, awesome facilities
This course is worth the drive out of LA proper. It can get a little expensive but snatch up a hot deal and its way worth it.
Never disappoints
When I get the opportunity to play this course, meaning when I find an online deal, I'm excited because the layout is beautiful and it's well maintained.
S L O W pace
The course was in fair condition. However, it could be so much better. The greens were soggy, but the ball rolled way more than expected--that was kind of strange. The pace of play was woeful. Could ot play more than 13 holes in 4 hour, so we just left. The Babe Course is very winding, thus forcing playera to draw or fade shots--just hitting the ball straight won't do you much here. Also, there are lots of trees that get in the way. Keep that in mind. If you are a novice player--bogie or more strokes per round--you will not enjoy this course.
