Shoreline Golf Links at Mountain View

Despite repeated calls well in advance to 24 hours prior to the tee time, Shoreline never honored its cancellation. Tried calling prio and after 24 hours to no avail. Got a vague voicemail several days after. I am out a fair bit of cash with no recourse:

Haven’t played here in a while due to usual poor-decent course condition, finally figured I’d go give it another shot..no improvements! Still wasn’t bothered because it’s not my first walk in the park here and kind of new what to expect. Until I got to the 10th whole and realized the entire driving range was re leveled and layed w/fresh sod!! Why waste all that grass on the range when every fringe, fairway, and tee box can use a serious make over. Not only did I make 2 golfer hole in ones but I rolled my left ankle twice and my right once in massive/sneaky golfer holes. Hope they start applying the kind of work they did to the range to the course. Not a bad layout but kind of bummer and always look forward to getting it over with by about the 15th. FIX COURSE, NOT RANGE

Course is not in great shape, they've got ground squrirel issues. Holes and burroughs everywhere in the faireways. Thin lies, and needs a lot of TLC. Not what I remembered. play was terribly slow, COVID's fault with no marshalls to move people along, it was painfully slow, and walkers all had umbrellas on their pull carts, a very strange scene for a sunny, clear day. Felt like a retirement home for golfers...

Fairways have some bare spots. Greens are in good condition, but could be better. Good pace of play. Finished 18 holes in 4 hours.

This course is hit or miss. In other words, good course sometimes? Wow what a difference a day makes out here. Oh, but the squirrels...bump the ball and if the greens are maintained it’s a fun test.

Laptops welcome? Go play as you are always a half hour to an hour to many a Bay Area services and the staff is also very welcoming.

Fairways and rough riddled with gopher holes. Greens made you ball bounce like a super ball. Only saving grace was the weather.

Played the course again a month after they punch, greens are much better, still needs some mowing and rolling on the greens.

Still too many ground squirrel everywhere creating holes and dirt patches every where. Some parts of the fairways were dry and some were over watered.

Need better maintenance for the tee boxes and the fairways. Many bare spots.

Shoreline is a very good course and had almost no wind today.

Being on the bay normally it is windy but not today.

It was crowded but the pace of play was very good.

Fun course for all levels of play. Fairways have lots of bald spots and greens commonly have geese droppings. Fairways need time to heal but greens should be cleaned of geese droppings...

This is a flat walkable course with a good layout. Unfortunately, the fairways are full of bald spots and the greens are filled with Canadian geese droppings.

Not well kept. Really hard to judge for playing ther the first time. Thankfully, we were paired with someone who knew the course. Not well marked. Squirrel holes EVERYWHERE! You need a kidney belt to take the cart off the fairway. I know, stay in the fairway, right?

The greens were aerified so putting was pretty hard.

The course has a ton of ground squirrels everywhere, at least like 10 on every tee box, they were all over the course. The squirrels has dugged so many holes all over the course. A lot of thick rough that is the 2nd cut from the fairway. Either maintenance crew just got lazy and dont bother mowing 2nd cut from fairway.

Some fairways were dried up. For the price its not worth $52 with cart. This is a municipal course should be around $35. Will not play here until greens are back in shape and better prices.

I love to play at Shoreline because of reasons such as proximity to my house (5 miles), relative challenge of course, low prices, polite staff, ease of booking tee times.. I have played this course over 50 times but today I decided that I do not want to play this course unless they improve the following:

FAIRWAYS (poorly maintained, too many divets, too much geese excrement and too many hard grassless (ie no grass) spots and areas.)

BUNKERS (hard sand)

YARDAGE MARKERS (besides the 150 yard markers there are no other yardage markers)

Please improve your course conditions.
