Twilight
Played @ 3:30. One guy behind counter checking golfers and answering phones chaos waiting to happen. However , he handled the traffic quite well considering line and phones . There was confusion at the first tee and there needs a starter or Marshall with golfers wanting to get off. Expected slow play and was rewarded.
Greens on the front nine were smooth, back were bumpy. Usually play the blues with friends but as a single I play what the others play. White tees will give you ample birdie opportunities with well placed drives and irons. Got windy conditions and thought it was great to keep the bugs at bay and cool. Hey I could ramble on but the fact of the matter is I would play it again because of location and price under 40.
Wild kingdom
Front nine was enjoyable, back nine had too many geese on greens and ground squirrels everywhere. Scouted out this course for tourneyment play, probably will pass on tourney because of the courses conditions.
Need hole map on scorecard and better markings on the course. It is easy to get lost on holes.
I enjoyed the back nine and the views of the surfers. gOOD EXPERIENCE.
Poor value
The course was totally torn up and poorly maintained. Many holes needed ground repair and some had massive construction going on all around them. One par four was having the tees redone so there were fairway tees at 150 yards which were poorly marked. Most of the holes had minimal signage (some were missing it completely) and those that had a posted layout were battered and torn up. Not worth the value and for the record there's really only 1 hike with a view of the "shoreline". Very disappointed.
Solid, competively priced course
Shoreline is a decent course with challenging holes. No cart person evident. Greens ok, fairways ok for most part. Recommended. Our round was quick but can often be 5++
Lot of first timers & Jaywalkers
The course got pretty backed up with several flights of players who could only hit 10 yards at a time...The first hole had 4 flights one after the other on the fairway when we reached the tee. On 10th...we saw Jaywalkers walking without any concerns for balls that were flying in their direction...they weren't people who were there to play, they just decided to walk the course !
The course did open up after 530 pm...but was a nightmare till that time.
Slow play
For a Wednesday afternoon it was really slow. We waited on every shot and most par 3's were stacked a couple groups deep. The green were in great condition but the rest of the course was a little rough.
We'll manicured
Very nice course first time playing there. Nice fairways and nice greens, just know there is a lot of wind .
index < 6 run away
Pace of play awful. Starter has no idea what's going on, placing 5some together. Players with no etiquette or respect for the game. Greens with massive divots all the way around. I picked up after 3 agonizing holes with the most bizarre group I've ever been paired with. My patience was wearing thin and I thought to myself, no freaking way am I going to be out here for 6 hours. Very poor experience and I definitely will not be visiting any time soon.
Shoreline is a dump!
I was charged through GolfNow and had to pay again at the course...
I didnt even compleat the first hole (number 10) course condiditons were terrible, if you werent playing in goose poo you were playing in Mud.
This once was a decent place but the staff changed and now the course has gone with it.
I got a refund for what I was charged at the course we will see if it works.
Good muni course!
People I was playing with needed to wait for clearance of those ahead of us to make tee and fairway shots; otherwise, not that slow.
Greens were good, but fairways were really wet.
Staff was very friendly during check in. Course play was a little long due to t
Soggy fairways, smooth greens and squirrels galore
Fairway's were super soggy and muddy, i think the drainage is pretty poor? Very muddy in places. I have never seen so many squirrels in my life.. Greens were in great shape. Staff in the pro-shop were super nice a friendly. The guy that helped us was incredibly nice, offered 20% of balls.
Food was pretty good, old school place, senior specials. Awesome chorizo breakfast burrito.
Pace of play was really slow. Should stagger the tee times with bigger intervals of time in between each group.
Squirrel Infestation
Played Saturday morning around 9:00 and started 10 minutes late because they had a Member tournament going on and to look forward to a 5 hour round. They said there weren't enough marshals to speed things up. Squirrels were everywhere, making holes in the turf and in the bunkers. Greens in reasonably good shape, everything else below average.
If you are looking to walk 18 holes leisurely and love looking at squirrels this is the course for you. Since I like to ride and play fast I will pass on this one in the future.
A decent public course
A decent public course, play there many many times. 4 par 3 holes are all tough when you play back tee against wind, Greens are not as good as used to be, with a couple greens not in good conditions, other greens decent. over all course condition are manageable.
Ok, not great
Pretty straightforward non intimidating course. Could be better maintained, but they probably don't have the funds to do so... For $65 you should be able to get a nicer course somewhere..
Good value for the south SFBay area
The course is in good condition with some sparse sand traps though. The layout is very good with dog legs allowing you to shorten the hole distance and score. Pace of play for a weekend was good. The driving range is also very good. We will return to play again when in the bay area.
my round at shoreline golf
It was not crowded and staff was excellent and the food was ok. Course was in pretty good shape for a drought year. It gets a lot of wind later in the day. I will definitely go back.
Shoreline
Real fun time. I would play again for sure. It's a little pricey but it really is a good value considering the length and quality of the course.
Average
For some reason everybody is being asked to start at hole 10 and play 10-18 first, then move to 1-9. Made things a little bit confusing, especially trying to find the tee on hole 1.
Tee'd off about 15-20 minutes late. Pace was incredibly slow on a Saturday morning.
The greens played incredibly fast.
Lots of wildlife around, which was neat. Tons of squirrels and owls and the ranger warned us of a couple of fox families.
