Golfer Reviews
Best value for money - great layout
This has been my go to course for 2019. They have great greens and we’ve had some wacky weather so far this year. Fairways and rough could be better, but they’re still better than most courses in the area, and just fine to me. Sand traps need some work but all the rain this year makes that tough. Greens are phenomenal and better than many courses around Charlotte that would cost you $50+
The layout is fantastic - holes sprawl out and offer a little taste of the outdoors. You aren’t constantly bordering another fairway or tee box. The front is fun and scorable and a good warm up to what I think is a much tougher back 9.
The clubhouse isn’t anything special, but works. If you want a country club feel this isn’t for you - but the simple laid back atmosphere is what I love about it. They have hot dogs and a few snacks. They sell a few balls there but other than that, there’s no real shop. Come here for the golf - that’s what matters and that’s what they focus on.
Improved greens
The course is in much improved conditionsince two months ago when I last played. Obviosly they have been paying a lot of attention to the greens. Greens were well rolled and true.
Never Play Again
I have played hundreds of courses across the country and this might be the worst I have ever been to. Not sure if you can even call it a pro shop but it was a dump. Checked in and he asked me to show him my golfnow rate from my phone. . Carts were a joke as the first one didn't have clips to strap your bag on and the second one the brake wouldn't lock. I am completely shocked that golfnow associates it's brand with this place. The greens are terrible and even if we didn't have the rain we've had it still would be in terrible shape. I only rate it a 1 as that's the only option given
Had a good time
Played on a wet overcast day, cart path only.and was amazed at how well the greens rolled. Challenging course for high handicappers like my wife and I. Standing on the tee of some holes my minds eye can imagine that if the fairway bunkers that have grown in were still there it would give the best golfers pause. I a world of vanishing courses i would recommend playing this list gem.
A pleasant round at Pinetuck
Despite record rainfall within the last month and downpours just a few days ago, the course was in very good playing shape. Weather couldn't have been nicer and we were able to play at our own pace. Greens were great, Challenging hole #17 was almost friendly! Great price. Nice round of golf (except maybe my score. Playing partner had his best score there there)
Great place to keep our game from becoming dusty.
Course was very wet from the large amounts of recent rain days. It did however play well and had well conditioned fairways. The greens were slightly damaged (possibly from the weather). They did roll well in most cases. Carts are electric and function as intended. I will play again, hopefully on a dryer day and again in the Summer to fully experience the course’s potential.
Nice Day of Golf for 3
Despite a lot of rain in the previous week, the golf course was in good playing condition. Played in a group of three and played at our pace. Greens were very fast, but fair. Weather was warm, but not hot. All around nice day of golf.
Course in poor shape. Friendly staff.
Played here early Sunday morning as a single and got a hot deal for $20. Played 18 holes in under 2 hours. Nothing great about the course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in poor shape. I think what I paid is what you would expect out of this course. Staff were friendly. Carts are in horrible shape. Course layout is interesting and shows a lot of promise if it was well maintained.
Pinetuck
It's an old course in which the greens r always green, even in December and they aren't
Painted.yeah it could use some touch ups but I always enjoy playing the course.
Fun layout with some tests!!!
I played early as a single. Fast playing time!!! Love the layout and the par 3’s aren’t easy, most were in the 160 to 170 range with wind in your face. Love the course. The wind is a factor on lots of holes, be prepared to lay up if you don’t have a great tee shot. The club house, if you call it that, leaves much to be desired. Also, the carts were, well, poor at best. Don’t let that stop you great layout and testing shots, good pace, and greens in better than average condition make it worth the effort. I used a Hot Deal and at a little over a dollar a hole on Saturday at an 8ish tee time is hard to beat.
Forelorn day
Not worth the price! Great hits but lost balls due to blind shots with no distance markers or maps. Poor greens and death trap carts.
Average Joe course
This course has been around for ever. They really haven’t done anything to make it a “wow” factor kind of course. I think the price matches most courses around but the up keep on most courses are far superior then this one. Only played here because it was the only course that had an early tee time due to everyone’s schedule that played today. It’s an average course with average everything, from the food selection too the greens to the layout. Nothing big to write home about but if you are not looking for a spectacular course and looking for an early tee time, this is the course for you.
Bad course conditions
We have golfed at this course before and this is the worst we've seen the greens were very thick and wet and they kept watering them as we were golfing.. throughout the course the fairways we're OK but the rough was very thick of dead grass and weeds .... everything on that course is just overgrown even everything around the clubhouse needs some work ASAP
Her Very First Time
Took a new girl for her first time ever on a real golf course.
She looks like a natural to me!
Still the same
Been before and nothing new. Green look a little better in some places and worse in others. Rest of the place is just more and more run down.
No Rips, No Tears But No Speed
We found the only golf cart at Pinetuck with a seat that had no rips or tears
But by hole #2 we realized the cart had no pep and could basically only go 5mph
We might have finished our 9 holes faster if we had walked but it was 95°
At least our butts were comfy!
Diamond in the rough
Staff is extremely friendly, the golf carts have "character", a Tin Cup driving range, and an underrated course layout make this a diamond in the rough. If you have tees the tee boxes are fine, roll the ball in the fairway and you will get a good lie, hit the green and you will have all the challenges you'll need. Miss the fairway or miss the green and pay the price. A good course for practicing your game and a decent bang for the buck with the right attitude.
