Golf Event
We could not have asked for a better day and a better golf course to play on...the greens were beautiful but the course itself was awesome. Hats off to the greens keeper and his staff ...you guys have done a great job...we will be back!

Surprised
I'll have to say that I went into playing Persimmin Hill with very low expectations. Upon arriving I thought well, this is what I expected. Old clubhouse and old decor. Rates for Tues morning at 11:00am were $20 with cash and $25 with card. We had cash so 3 of us played for $60. Again I thought "oh boy, here we go". Once we teed off on 1 and got to the green, the other 2 playing with me basically said the same thing "this course is in great shape".
After 6 or 7 holes we all felt like we robbed the place for only paying $20/person. The course was in great shape, layout was above average and pace of play ended up being 3 hours for 18 holes.
Clubhouse was below average and the eatery was as well but I must say, if I lived in this area I would be there weekly. Such a great deal and definitely above average.
A must play for the Lexington, Saluda area.
Very poor golf course
Fairways are ok but the greens are just awful. Carts are about 10 years old and in poor condition. Not much to buy in the Pro Shop. A total waste of time and money. If I wasn't playing in a tournament, I would not have ventured anywhere near Persimmon Hill.
A hidden gem
Have heard about this course for years, but until today have never played it. Showed up early on a Friday, and got a relatively cold reception. OK. The range balls and carts were below average. Played the front nine and had a blast. The back nine was every bit as much fun. Very honest course. The fairways are decent, the roughs are decent, the sand traps were way better that I expected. Nice greens.
We inquired about membership. Sounds promising! Nice course for the dollars you are paying. We will no doubt be back.
This course has not improved over the years
I've played this course quite a few times over the past 30 years and it is not getting any better. Fairways are spotty and have a combination of Bermuda and St Augustine grasses in them. Greens are spotty and bumpy. Appears to me that they do not put a lot of money into maintenance and upgrades.
A long drive from Augusta, but worth it.
I like the finishing hole, 630 yards. The staff was vcery friendly.
Course was in great shape.
This was the wirst time i've played here in over 10 years, and the course is always in great condition. Very good value for the money. Long, challenging par 5's and par 3's. Looking foward to playing here again.
lONG AND TOUGH, BUT IN GREAT SHAPE.
Great course, had a wonderful time. My boys and I truly enjoyed.
Beautiful layout, wide fairways, plenty of sand and lakes
Always been a favorite. Greens should be very good by mid-May.
only thing course has going is nice layout
Not only is this course in abyssmal shape , they saw fit to charge us $50 instead of the usual $20 because it was masters week. No warning about how bad of shape the course was in.
Avoid this course like the plague. Total ripoff!
Awesome
Great course and great people. Course was very challenging. Great greens and not crowded. Only gave it 4 stars due to the aggravation the golf carts caused with some sort of safety switch. Had to switch carts to play 10-18 and was just glad that it didnt break around 4 then we would have had a long walk back to the club house or would have had to finish on foot.
Good Course and Priced at at Great Value
Living in Augusta, Ga and having the luxury of access to at least a dozen public and semi-private courses, I choose to take the short 35 minute drive to play this course. I was a little concerned at first reading some reviews online, but looking at the dates of the reviews and they were from 2010. This course was no where near the negative reviews that were posted. The greens are in great shape the fairways are nice if there are any draw backs it would be the condition of the tee boxes, but to me that is not super important. Freindly people not only running the course but the patrons I have found to be great.
Well manicured and great value
Pace of play is great...never backed up with tee times spaced nicely. Been playing here off and on for a few years and have never seen the course in bad shape. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes always in great shape. For the golf purest this might be a sin, lol but very few of the bunkers have lips on them. A weekend hacker like myself can putt out of most of them. Arrange your tee time to finish your round at noon and you can hit their lunch buffett that is offered 3 or 4 days a week. Great facility...Shhhhhhhhh, lets keep this place a secret.
