Sloowwww day.
It was horribly slow. There was a five some but they were not even the problem. At one point there was 5 groups on a par 4. One at the hole. One in the fairway. Three other groups waiting to t off. This course is really fun but needs a Marshall.
Fairly new player, first time at Mt Vintage
I’m fairly new at golf and have been playing at several beginner friendly courses in the CSRA. Me and a few buddies caught a great deal at Mt Vintage on the GolfNow app and decided to give it a shot. I live right down the road, but have refrained from playing here due to a self induced fear that I was not good enough to play here. I have a very high handicap (26.3), but I enjoy the game of golf and really enjoyed my time here. The staff was very friendly and helpful in pointing me in the right direction to get started. We played the Vintage and Independent 9s. The course is very well weaved throughout the neighborhood of custom houses and rolling hills. The course was very well manicured, from the tee boxes to the greens. I enjoyed the elevation changes throughout the course. It was challenging not knowing what hazards lurked beyond fairway hills, but the golf cart gps pad helped out. The cart paths were in good shape with just a few rough patches along the way. The pace of play was a lot slower than I was used to, due to most of the holes being spaced out, but it helped me slow down, focus, and reset between holes. Overall, this is a great course that is well layed out, keeping the form of the rolling hills located throughout the Sweetwater communities.
Nice golf course with above average conditions
We played the independent and Vintage nines today and both were in above average condition. Enjoyed the course layouts as the independent is pretty straight forward holes while the vintage has sharp doglegs on every hole but the par 3’s and one other straight hole. You have to hit the fairways here or the rough can be penalizing.
Brilliant layout
One of my top 5 courses I’ve ever played. Beautiful, fantastic layout and great condition. Good practice/warmup area. Very good value for what you get! It’s a must play!
Beautiful course
Course was beautiful but the greens are not quite smooth after the aeration. Staff was great food was very good.
Slow
The course was unique. Very challenging from the tips. Course condition was quite good for a public course that gets a lot of play. The pace of play was unbelievably painful. Well over 5 hours for a 3 some. We were stacked on the tee boxes for at least 3/4 of the time. Tee times were 10-minutes apart which is reasonable but somewhere along the line there were people playing this course, most likely from tees they shouldn’t have been playing, and it became a drag. For everyone else.
