Pace of Play - No Marshall
The pace of play is not monitored and maintained. The course employees are aware of the lack of pace and do not enforce it. Therefore, plan for an extremely long day.
Overseeding and aerating
Played 9 holes twice as overseeding and aerating was in effect. The putting greens on the front 9 had just been aerated, seeded, and had a sand dressing on top. It will be great in a month but not right now-should have either given a discount or let me know in advance when reservations were made.
Wasn’t told by Golfnow
That they were Air rating the greens and you had to play the back nine twice! Golfnow failed!
Disappointing conditions
Pace of play was horrible. I will avoid playing Sierra Lakes on the weekend unless I have an early morning tee time. The golf shop staff was more interested in socializing on their phones than paying attention to the needs of paying customers. They had no idea if the starter was behind or on time when I checked in. There was no sense of urgency to address the pace of play. At one point there were 4 groups on #4. We eventually skipped the 9th hole and proceeded to play the front nine again to avoid standing around the entire day.
Always a good track, always a good value.
This is one of my go-to tracks in the IE with good reason. Greens are in excellent shape and roll true. (Wish people would fix their balls marks, but that’s never gonna happen apparently.) Tee boxes are flat and in good shape. Fairways are starting to come out of the winter dormancy and will be in great shape come spring. Pace of play with an 0823 tee time was 4+25, but could be a lil longer in the afternoon. Overall - highly recommend.
Horrid Pace, No Rangers, No Raincheck
Almost 3 hours for nine holes. Group in front of us wasn’t keeping pace with the group in front of them. Teeing off on a par 4 when the group in front was already clear of the green.
No rangers to facilitate pace or play. No staff anywhere on the course.
Fairways in absolutely awful condition. Greens in good condition.
The kicker and the worst part. Had to stop after 9 hours because of the pace, asked for a rain check for nine. Was told “we can’t do rain checks for golf now customers, only direct customers”. It makes absolutely no sense and assured I’ll never go back.
Slow pace
10-15 minutes between holes is unacceptable. Staff is helpful but I never see a marshal out there trying to move the pace. Course is in good condition. Thank you.
Over priced and very slow
Could be one of the nicest courses around but it is very poorly managed. My group had to wait for carts so we started 15 minutes late. Tee times crammed together 8 minutes apart creates huge backups at par 3’s. We were four deep on one par3. No monitoring pace of play. To top it off the sprinklers turned on the greens with 3 holes to play. I heard the course is going to be buried under a new development soon which makes sense why they don’t care about their customers. Way over priced for the experience.
Good, not great
I enjoy playing this course and I understand it was a Sunday morning, but the place of play here leaves a lot to be desired. We were so backed up we wound up pairing up with the twosome behind us and played as a fivesome. I still would play here again but it’ll definitely be a twilight time to save some money, $89 until 2 is absurd for the quality of course. I don’t know if they’re just trying to make up for money lost during Covid or taking advantage of the fact that more people are playing now, also because of Covid. Enjoyed the course overall, but for $89 I’d at least expect to see a marshall keeping pace of play up and a cart person with refreshments at least once. Neither of those happened.
