Shandin Hills Golf Club

I’ve played a lot of courses. This is hands down the worst course conditions I’ve ever played! Greens were awful and no sign they will ever be good again. Weeds, dirt, chunks, fairways were dirt, dry, or over saturated in spots. Almost every bunker had standing water. This place has gone way past down hill and cost $70 to play “ROBBERY”, golf now should remove this course from the app, disgraceful!

I used to golf here prior to Covid and a bit after. It was one of my favorite places to play golf. I just played here for the time in 5 years and it’s absolutely heartbreaking! It’s probably as bad as it gets. The greens are in terrible shape to say the least. The fairways have lots of muddy puddles from broken sprinkler systems. I wish I had taken photos but I was just in disbelief. Golf Now needs to pull this course down because it almost unplayable! They’re also charging $74 on a Saturday morning tee time. Had I paid online, I’d be asking for a refund!

I paid $64 plus GN fees each to play this course and I could easily say it was not worth anything close to the price. When we arrived, the person in the clubhouse told us that #1 and 9 were shortened due to construction but other than that, it was good for “Shandin Hills”. Well, he was wrong, I have played this many times before and this was the worst shape I’ve ever seen it. Grass was dead, fairways looked rough at best and greens were not cut down and full of sand. I think we need to do better at letting people know what they are getting into before you play this course.

Course was just in horrible condition, sprinklers busted running water on multiple holes. Green were absolute trash, fair ways are well not even fairways. Horrible all around, not worth 76 a player. Close this place down until everything is fixed.

The driving range was closed for refurbishment which is fine. The main issue across many holes was patchy greens with many areas of sand so that your ball rolled across green to sand to weed and your line and speed are greatly affected. There were also many areas around the course that appeared to be so wet as to be muddy…I saw flowing water in several places and a broken sprinkler pouring water out. Sipped of play was great and price was reasonable but the greens conditions really took away from the experience.

Staff was as always great, Unfortunately the quality of the course does not match the price. Paid 76 for a Sunday morning tee time expecting the greens to be well kept considering they punched and sanded them a week or two before, of course I wasn’t expecting a pristine green but the sand would be clumped in certain areas and there was already weeds growing out of them. It used to be better kept but unfortunately it’s as it is, I think if they just fixed their greens I could justify the price

This course has recently become completely run down. The negligence and waste is not being hidden. I cannot understand how people have the audacity to charge money to play at this course in the current condition.

The grass, both in the fairway and in the rough, is often over one foot tall. There are literal ponds of water throughout the course due to broken sprinklers that the staff has simply left to run, flooding large portions of the course enough to where our carts were almost stuck. The staff told us the greens were punched and sanded, this was not accurate. The greens might have been punched three months ago, but different types of grass is growing throughout the patches of dirt and sand. Their solution to these issues seems to have been simply dumping large amounts of sand on the greens.

It is sad to see this happen to a decent course.

The course has an ok but confusing layout. (hard to find the next hole). The bunkers were pure hardpack and played like a dirt cartpath. The fairways were not mown and were very much like rough. We spent lots of time trying to find balls hit in the center of the fairway. We found many balls in deep grass where they should be no deep grass. Greens were sanded so could not tell good or bad. Course conditions were awful, multiple muddy wet spots and multiple dry brown spots. If they maintained the course it might be ok, right now it's a unmown goat track.

It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the greens were covered with sand. Also, we lost multiple balls on fairway shots because even in the middle of a few fairways, the grass was overgrown.

Went to play and was so disappointed with the course. Granted, I have played there before and the course is in OK condition but tolerable. This time it was horrendous. The grass is just growing and every fairway is dried, it’s all dirt. The greens are decent. I heard they are supposed to redo the whole golf course. Right now they are redoing the driving range. Supposedly they had a fund raiser to fix the course. They raised $50,000. I really don’t think that will be enough to fix this place. I will stay away until they either fix it or tear it down.
