Under new management???
It's under new management ?
The carts are more comfortable but....
No free food w a ticket
Carts are slower
The grass was only cut on the fair way. My cartner lost about 4 balls and he normally hits just off the green.
Its a little pricier ?
.....Hey take that extra money and pay another gardener to cut the grass!
Even with older carts. I liked it better before the change.
Will Definitely Be Back
This course was outstanding. Had everything I could have wanted. The one downside is the lack of an ambassador. The bang for your buck as far as I’m concerned was phenomenal and I’ll 100% be back.
I’ll be back
Didn’t much care for the course in the past but it’s beautiful now. Caught it on a great day and no one in front of us or pushing us. Lucky I guess.
Price up, Value down
This course was always a great value for the money but not know. The carts are new, but the fairways are sparse and the greens which at least were always their best attribute were average. In this case, you don’t even get what you pay for…even on golf now.
I had fun
I would say this is the better course between the two in SB. Shandin hills has a better layout, some elevation changes, and a nice par 3 over some water. A lot of par 5s to try and get some nice drives. Greens were nice fairways were decent enough. Would definitely come back again. They just need a cart girl.
Nice Layout
Despite the area, I really like the layout of this course. It has some really cool holes that fit my eye. The condition of the course isn't that great, but if someone put some money into this, it would be an amazing golf course that I would play regularly. Clubhouse doesn't sell much in terms of golf apparel. I had forgotten my hat and it was a hot day, but the course didn't have even one hat for sale. Hopefully some corporation with money will buy this course and turn it into the gem it has the potential to be.
Enjoyed the course!
I really enjoyed this course, especially the front nine which had a lot of elevation changes. The back nine is flat and maybe a little more boring but it was challenging for all skill levels. I thought the greens were in decent shape and overall the course was in good shape considering the 100 degree heat we have had recently.
Marshall was out of line
Played here a few times. Honestly the course looked the best it ever has. Pace of play started to slow a little, I did have my son with me who is a beginner. We were on the butts of the guys in front of us the whole time. I was having my son pick up when needed, we had the Marshall on us and watching every stroke on every hole, 4 holes in a row after he said we were behind a hole. Which definitely made my group rush and ruined pretty much the back nine. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for nudging somebody when needed, but this was not needed and standing over our shoulders, was totally unnecessary.
Not Yet
I am still trying to figure out how there are a few reviews saying this course in the best shape it has been in Years? Same people must be reviewing Arrowhead Country club as both are run by same outfit. Yes it is a fun course and usually we never take more than 4:15 to play it during week days. But too many burnt out dirt spots in fairways, bunkers some good some What? Greens are usually very good. Price went up with new management and free food and drink taken away so maybe they will spend some money on the course. If your driving a long way to play here maybe better to give new management some time to work on course.
This course has some great Elevation Change
Enjoyed a lot of golf here never seems to get old - large course plenty of great courses on golf now but hard to beat this place
If your looking for a soso muni
First time playing here. Because of the decent reviews I decided to give this place a try. Not a good idea. Poor course conditions. Greens were like putting on the fringe. Fairways had lot of dried up spots. Barely any sand in bunkers. The course does have a good variety of holes. If the conditions weren’t so poor, it would be a fun course to play.
Had a few players that didn’t respect golf etiquette. Jumping in front of other players almost as if skipping holes
Extreme Slow Pace of Play
When I arrived at 10:40am from my 11:50am tee time, the course was already backed up. They were already out of carts and and the #1 Tee was already 25 minutes behind. Well off to a great start. I see. When we received our cart, it was wet from getting cleaned, however, there was still trash in it. Finally after getting off the tee and starting to play, we had a young marshal approach us on the 8th green saying that we can't play two balls per hole. Well one, wasn't our group and two, as we are on the green, the group in front of us was waiting to hit on 9 tee box. So we are not the problem. The problem was not corrected in the morning and it created a waterfall affect thus causing problems for the entire day. We waited every hole to play our tee shot and approach shot. Then by end of the round, we had deal with some drunk golfers on the golf course. What I expected to be a max of 4.5 hour round, turned into slightly over 6 hours. This is completely unacceptable and I fear the new management will ruin this course. I know I will never be back nor will my group. I would rather pay a little more and by little I mean 10-15 dollars more for more spacing on the tee sheet and much better course conditions.
The only good thing I can say is the beverage cart girl was upbeat, apologetic, and friendly. We did stop multiple times to ask us if we wanted something but that was probably due to the extreme slow play.
