Tierra Rejada Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of eastern Ventura County, Tierra Rejada Golf Club is known for its picturesque setting and stunning views. The club overlooks the Reagan Presidential Library. Tierra Rejada is unique in that it offers a formidable test for low handicappers from the championship tees but it is also accessible to mid and high handicappers thanks to the Players Course. The 5,600-yard Players Course is a "course within a course" that was designed to keep the game fun for golfers who may not be looking for a tough test. Even though it may be shorter, both golf courses still provide a challenge. There are plenty of ups and downs throughout thanks to the rolling hills and there are a variety of hazards coming into play including water and strategically placed bunkers.

Be humble at this place
Great place for anyone who wants a course with a challenge. This place is not for beginners. Amazing views of the valley
Excruciating slow play
Beautiful course
Unfortunately it was ruined by extremely slow play
Backed up 3 groups per hole
Waited on every shot
Ruined a beautiful course
Beware of Range!
First, if your in the left side of fairway on the 1st hole, watch out for incoming range balls! Second, the range grass isn't in the best shape and it's hard to find some with decent grass.
The course is good and favosr better players, but the greens arnt as fast as they used to be. Prob due to the heavier play now.
Food is good and worth it!!
Poor Staff experience
Wow- As a 20 year golfer i am speechless. Easily the worst front desk experience I have had. Staff was rude, unprofessional and completely off their rocker with bad attitude. I was asked to fill in for a slot who couldn't make it but the desk wouldnt allow it. Every one speaking to the desk was polite but was still refused even with the group willing to have the swap- front desk goes off about how they need the room and they overbooked so a cancellation is better for their times. done. nothing they could do. go away. Having golfed thousands of rounds in this country and others - this indignant attitude was completely foreign and uncalled for. How was I offending them by wanting to golf? for filling a backed out slot? I called 2 other courses nearby in the parking lot both said they were full but would work me in once I checked in. Its not hard to be polite and work with folks and there are other courses in the county that actually want you to golf and spend $ at their establishment. Do not recommend due to staff.
Challenging Course
Great course. Very challenging but we have an amazing time. Tony was amazing.
Lot of variety
The track lay out is a little different to say the least. First 9 has some crazy elevation changes and blind shots that can be a bit punishing. The back 9 starts to even out into a more traditional layout. This can be fun for some people or annoying. Just depends on what kind of course you like to play. Greens are in great shape and make for an interesting day of putting. Fun course worth excellent clubhouse and on site practice facility. Worth a look for sure.
This is definitely one of my Top 5 courses to play.
This is a challenging course with very beautiful scenery. The pin placement made it more of a challenge. This was my first time playing Tierra Rejada and I’m looking forward to playing it again.
7 Holes
Teed off at 2:35pm. Played 7 holes then got backed up on hole 8 as 3 groups in front of us were waiting. We waited 10 minutes, but by this time it was already 4:40pm, so we left. Likely won’t be back for awhile. Lots of hills and blind shots in those 7 holes though. Pro Shop girl not the friendliest, but oh well. Course in decent condition even though we’re diving headfirst into another drought.
Work in progress
The course is going through renewal repairs. The grass is being grown back. Tee boxes are lush, overly so. Fairways have had some new sod relacement in giant patches, and it looks like they are attemting to define the fairway from the rough like it’s supposed to be, but a lot of the course has not grown back. Which is all nice, since it had gone through some bad patches of crusty thin lies like everywhere else. Unfortunately we won’t know if they can maintain it at all because we’re about to head into a drought again and so the watering maybe limited.
There is brand new sand in the bunkers, really nice sand. But!!! NOBODY was raking them. People are so lazy. It’s unforgivable really. Are people still that paranoid about Covid? If so, then why can’t they at least use their feet to brush out their own footprints??? The club needs to tell people to do so, it needs to let players know about the sand and to please brush out their footprints if they are too afraid to use the rakes.
The greens weren’t very good. They hadn’t been rolled so they were bumpy and I’m sure that’s also a part of their plan to bring the course back to better playing conditions.
Everybody knows it’s not a walkable course - and not a beginner’s course - we got stuck behind some terrible beginners and they didn’t move aside even though we were up on them the whole day. Where’s the etiquette education?? The club needs to let people know, as does the USGA in public announcements.
I will never recommend this place to anybody.
GREAT GOLF EXPERIENCE
