Tierra Rejada Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of eastern Ventura County, Tierra Rejada Golf Club is known for its picturesque setting and stunning views. The club overlooks the Reagan Presidential Library. Tierra Rejada is unique in that it offers a formidable test for low handicappers from the championship tees but it is also accessible to mid and high handicappers thanks to the Players Course. The 5,600-yard Players Course is a "course within a course" that was designed to keep the game fun for golfers who may not be looking for a tough test. Even though it may be shorter, both golf courses still provide a challenge. There are plenty of ups and downs throughout thanks to the rolling hills and there are a variety of hazards coming into play including water and strategically placed bunkers.

Definetly coming back
Great course. Challenging but not frustrating . We had golfers range from 9 -25 handicaps . Also had a great replay rate.
Tough and fast
Good conditions all around. If you have played here before, you know how tough it is. The recent winds and warm weather has made the greens very fast to add to the difficulty.
Greens in great shape
Fairways and greens were in great shape.
Course played fast.
Great lunch in the restaurant.
Didn't see a cart girl the whole day. Would've loved to have purchased some beverages throughout the day.
Very accomodating
My partner was going to be late. Even though I made the reservation thru Golfnow they moved our tee time back 15 minutes.
Great course at a great price
Loved the course and played for a great price . Challeging but not to hard. Pace if play was slow due to three guys that played the black tees that were 30 index players.
Tierra Rajada golf day
I was a nice course in decent condition. I can see that at one time it was in great shape but the lack of water has taken its toll on this course a bit. Still a good round for the deal I got on their website.
Great play, Excellent Happy Hour Thursdays.
It gets warm, but course plays great. Challenging for a 13 handicapper but fun. Bunkers could use more sand.
Happy Hour Thursday with live entertainment and food is great.
Beautiful
What a beautiful course. Helps to be half Billy Goat as it is up and down. Anyone with a double digit Hdcp should play from the White Tees though. Well bunkered, lots of water, with a lot of elevation changes make it quite interesting. Would make a great qualifer track but probably not walkable as it would be more like a triathalon.
Tierra Rejada
First time playing here in almost 15 years in spite of living just down the road for all but 2 of those years. Played the blues (70.6/129/6557) in 3H, 45M on a prepaid GolfNow deal for $28 including a cart. GK showed that the greens were recently aerated, so I inquired beforehand and was told they were "lightly sanded". However, this appeared to be a full blown aeration with heavy sanding to me. You should stay away from this course for a minimum of 10 days to let the greens heal, it is not even worth a severely discounted green fee to play on these greens.
I love a layout that has five par 5's and five par 3's, which Tierra Rejada has. However, this layout is somewhat quirky. Hole 3 is a par 4 with a blind tee shot over a hill that has OB left and is red staked right with maybe 35 yards in between including rough on each side. Hole 8 is a severely downhill par 4 with a forced carry to a diagonal fairway that could be anywhere from a mid iron to a driver depending on how much real estate you decide to try and go over on your tee shot... but it's strictly a guess on what club to hit. And if you guess wrong, both sides of the fairway are red staked. Hole 17 is a severely downhill 75 yard par 3 that wouldn't be a good golf hole on a mediocre par 3 course. However, there ARE many good golf holes on this course as well. Several of the par 5's are potentially reachable for longer hitters, creating good risk/reward possibilities and there were several really good, challenging par 4's and par 3's.
The greens putted poorly, slow and bumpy. At least they held approach shots well.
I was in 3 green side traps, they looked good but were all very wet from specific spot daytime watering.
Both the fairways and rough were OK, ranging from lush to thin with no noticeable bare spots. However, many had some areas that had severe divot damage.
The tees were downright poor, many needed divot repair and the turf was worn thin in many spots. There was definitely no regular divot maintenance ongoing on these tees. The turf was not well maintained, and many were as much weeds as good turf. Very poor condition for a course that is at least middle of the road if not above average on price.
Customer service was super for checking me in and getting me right out on the 1st tee. However, not as good @ accurately reporting the condition of the greens beforehand. This course is not worth nearly the normal green fee rate with so many cheaper and better options nearby.
Aerating Greens
It was said that the front 9 had the greens aerated, so we played the back 9 to find out it was the same thing. The greens were extremely sandy and had been aerated as well. Had a terrible experience at the course, ruined the entire round.
scenic views
We tee'd off on time. The pace was steady and on time. an occasional GRU, some hoses lying around. Driving range balls on the 1st and 9th holes created a hinderance to finding your own ball. These are all little incidences and nuisances that had they not existed could've made the experience more pleasant. and now back to the course it was in above average condition and as always a bit of a challenge.
Great conditions overall, especially considering drought
Great experience overall. Played in just over 4 hours. Good conditions of fairways and greens. Tough front nine with tight fairways. Just was really hot in the middle of the day. Bring some water.
From the Irishman on us handicap
This course could use some T L C. Tee Boxes need attention , Fair Way rough needs to mowed / trimmed to be more consistent , the greens are in reasonable shape, but need divot repairs on a more consistent basis.
Over all : it is a great play.
Fantastic, as always!
This course is by far one of the best values in golf for Southern California. The course is always in amazing shape and their greens are definitely some of the best in the Los Angeles area. The pace of play is swift and you very rarely if ever find yourself waiting on the group in front of you. Beautiful views are plentiful around the course. Also, the grass driving range is a huge plus for those who like to loosen up before your round. Only complaint that I have is that their GPS systems are way outdated. I wish they would upgrade the GPS to something a bit more modern. For those who use rangefinders, this will not be an issue for you. I would suggest that you take the opportunity to play this course and you may just discover that you have found your new favorite golf course!
Two Very Different Nines, but Lots of Fun
I have played Tierra Rejada Golf Club several times, as this is the home course of the high school golf team that I coach. Living in the area, Tierra Rejada and Moorpark CC are my favorite places to play. The front 9 is full of target golf challenges as you play up on the cliffs. Wayward shots will be severely punished. The back 9 is down in the valley, is much flatter, and easier. There are several photo opportunities on this course, and wonderful views on a clear day. The course is in good shape, as the drought hasn't seemed to kill it like it has other courses. The staff is friendly and easy to deal with, and the prices are good for the quality of the course. I played on a $29 hot deal, and that is an absolute steal. Normal rack rates are priced fairly as well, especially during the twilight hours. The course is normally empty, so you can play a twilight round for cheap and be done in 3.5 hours. If you have never been, I highly recommend Tierra Rejada.
Enjoyable Round
The course was in good shape, and pace of play was fast.
A New Course I Will Come Back to Play Again.
The course was in much better shape than I was anticipating and it had the correct amount of difficulty I was looking for. The greens were in great condition. The Staff were really nice, we showed up 15 minutes before tee time so they comped us a bucket because we were only going to have time to hit a couple of balls.
Another great experience
Tierra is so golfer oriented and friendly it makes the experience so enjoyable. Great layout beautiful vistas so much fun
Great Golf Course with a nice view
Went to Tierra Rejada for the first time and had a really nice golfing experience. Great pace of play, course is in great shape and great condition and fast greens. Extremely recommend you to go and play this course.
