Lost Canyons Golf Club - Shadow Course

Lost Canyons Shadow course has been left to fend for itself... The fairways are not being watered and it is in very bad condition right now. It's a shame when you know you hit the fairway by the cloud of dust that kicks up! I suggest staying away until we get substantial rain... Which may be NEVER!

Fairways were some of the worst I've seen. Greens were nice.

The course is in terrible condition except for the greens. It's like they only water and mow the greens, fairways and tee boxes look like the front yard of a bank owned home.

I live in Venice Beach and unfortunately the beach outside of my home has more grass than the Shadow Course. It seems like the course had not been watered in months. What was so frustrating about my round here is that when you hit the fairways you are instantly penalized by having to hit off of hard pan. Pitching and chipping near the greens was impossible because of the lack of grass. The only way to score is to hit bump and runs even though this course is the furthest thing from a links course. I would not play here again no matter the deal.

Challenge course and greens are nice, but the fairways need maintain.

The shadow course is in such bad shape all the tee boxes are just in such horrible shape. And the sand bunkers are not sand bunkers they should be called something else or take them OUT. The fair ways are DEAD they need to stop charging and close it or give back my money.

I was looking forward to playing a "Pete Dye" course.
When I arrived at the facility I quickly released this place is out of money. the only thing on the shadow course that gets water are the T-box and greens, fairways are dead and hard. the driving range is like hitting balls out into the desert and balls are old and worn out!
The Sky course gets a bit more attention, mostly green and the greens are fair to good. lots of weeds and un-maintained areas abound.
I think the condition of this course reflect the lack of costumers and the economy?
THe clubhouse is nice.
At this point I won't be returning any time soon, lets hope they clean up this place soon. The layout and the scenery on this course is fantastic, It just needs maintenance!

Tees and greens are ok. Fairways and bunkers are awful. Don't spend the money unless you have nothing else to do. Play the sky course and pay a little extra

Maintenance of the fairways needs to improve but overall a nice course. Dry and golden fairways with greens in good condition make this a nice change from the typical park style course. Design features and beautiful scenery make this a course to come back to. Great value with GolfNow deal.

The course is in poor condition due to lack of water. They use all the water on the sky course which is lush and green. The fairways on the Shadow course are basically dead grass and dirt. Accuracy in a must on this course as errant shots are gone into chaparral. The sand traps are horrible as they play like a cart path. No sand and no fluff, just hard as a rock. And the greens are basically diabolical. Fast and difficult to read with extensive undulation. The worst feature was music being played on the practice range from a horrible speaker. Had to fee the area before I properly warmed up because the racket was causing brain damage. Would play it again after some rain.

The course was in very poor shape. Looked like they have not watered or taken care of this course in months. Could be a very beautiful and challenging course, but I have seen farm land that was in better shape. I would not recommend this course to anyone. I was very disappointed....

Nice price and value, I guess. But the fairways and bunkers need a lot of work. It really is a nice layout; and you can tell it's a nice course; but the conditions need to be improved. Most fairways were like hitting off hard pan, very light grass or dirt/sand basically. The tee boxes were not in great shape either.

This course would be great if the fairways had any turf. It was like hitting off the cart path on most shots. The greens are a little sketchy but not bad. There are a number of blind shots. It would be helpful if they provided a course layout. However, I am not coming back until they have done something about the fairways.(

Looks like only the greens get any water, there were weeds everywhere. A nice drive middle of the fairway did not help as the next shot was like hitting off hard dirt.

Course was in TERRIBLE condition. I would not play here again. Weeds in fairways, everything dry, etc.

There was an obvious decision to not water anything but the green area on the Shadows Course while the Sky Course watered fairways as well. That left for many locations of hardpan surfaces to hit off of or having to move your ball to a location that had some dead grass on it.

While the price was terrific, the conditions were not.

Greens were I'm excellent shape but 95% of the fairways and grass was completely dried out !

Even though the price was only $55 the course was not playable. The staff was however cordial and gave a couple of free rounds on the sister course. Still not a fun day

The course is in terrible condition. Some of the tee boxes were worse than the rough and there was almost no grass on the fairways. I will never play there again.

It was good because I only paid $14. There was no one on the course, so that was nice as well. Most of the grass was brown. The greens weren't too bad. They definetly take better care of the sky course, rather than the shadow course and it shows in the price.
