Park Hill Golf Club
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for the 2019 and 2020 season.
The golf course at Park Hill Golf Club is a regulation length 18-hole course that is open to the public. It is 7,268 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Clark Hamilton designed the course that opened in 1931. The course is relatively flat and features many bunkers. In later renovations to the course, over one hundred trees were planted to liven and enrich the landscape. A lake provides water hazards that come into play on two of Park Hill Golf Club's holes. The well-kept course is good for beginners or for any level of golfer who is looking to get some good practice.

Great Day On The Course!
Really enjoyed myself. Course was in great shap considering all the rain we had gotten in the last few days. Great bang for my buck!
I like the fact that this course is flat since I am in my 70's. Distance s just about right.
This is a good course -- have played it many times in the past. My only concern is that the greens have slowed down considerably. Some fairways have some bare spots and need some attention. Number 16 has been converted from a par 4 to a par 3 and that makes the back 9 a par 34. Would have liked if it had remained a par 70 overall, but nonetheless I still enjoy playing this course, Staff is cordial and friendly.
Not a bad course but could use somethings.
Course is good. The earlier you play the faster your round will go. The thing I don't like about this course is that it is hard to know your distance after you hit your first shot. Some hola have a 150 market or a 200 but other than that you are guessing a lot.
Great value, and well maintained course!
We played Park Hill on a whim, due to the fact it was last minute planning on July 4th. Our group doesn't get to play much due to opposing schedules, but we were pleasantly surprised by the course and staff. They were very helpful in guiding us around before tee time. This course is very forgiving to mediocre players such as ourselves. It plays long and flat, with only one water hazard and a nice variety of sand traps. My only complaints with this course would be (A) lack of refreshment cart service ( only seen once and that was on the 18th green) and (B) lack of signage to find the clubhouse ( it's up the steps facing the course). We have already talked about returning to play another round. Definitely recommend this course to those who are learning to play or those (like us) who don't get to play very often.
in poor condition overall
Played on Sunday and they had sprinklers going with standing water everywhere. What a waste
This course has no character. It is inexpensive,
Course was very easy. A wide open course with very little chance to find trouble. The first four holes I had a foursome in front of us that I had to skip a hole to get around. If I had not done that it would have been a 6 hour round.
This was the worst experience we have had in Colorado!
We were scheduled to tee off at 11:15. Actual tee off was 11:47. Playing on Father's day you expect to play in 4.5 hours. It took an hour to play 3 holes as there was no ranger. Each hole had 2-3 groups waiting to tee off. The flags were placed in places that should be used for tournaments. The greens that were in bad shape, you would always find the hole in the middle of the damage. it was like playing with no adult supervision. We will not go back to Park Hill. Playing time 5.5 hours!
Easy set up, greens/fairways and score card need attention
First off overall the course was in pretty good condition. A half a dozen greens had some pretty bad dead/patchy areas, which should is pretty pathetic considering the wet spring we had. The fairways and tee boxes were way over due for a trim.
Second, and the most embarrassing thing, was the fact that the scorecard was inaccurate because they changed hole #15. Used to be a par 4 now its a par 3. I would expect an accurate scorecard after a change like that.
New layout makes the course a par 70
I have always enjoyed playing this course, because it was pretty straightforward and it was hard to lose a ball. Now, 2 of the more challenging holes on the course were removed in favor of 2 very nicely manicured Par 3's. The only problem is that the new holes seem easier than the ones they replaced, and have also reduced the par of the course to 70 from 71. The old holes were a longer (from the tips) par 3 which hugged a boundary fence and a somewhat challenging par 4 which ran along Colorado Blvd. I birdied one and parred the other, where I was usually scrambling for an up and down before. I like the new layout, but it seems easier. I will still play here, but am curious as to why the changes were made. Also, there were no updated scorecards as of the day I played (the day it opened, I was told). My golf software was going nuts trying to give me distances and such.
Nice course for practicing.
There are two new holes and the signage need to be improved due to this.
Greens in poor shape
While I appreciate that Park Hill is spending some time putting in some new holes / layouts (and they look like they will be amazign), the course is in complete disrepair right now. Bunkers have grass growing in them. Tee boxes are in pretty poor shape. The rough is not consistent at all. And most importantly, the greens were the worst greens I have ever played on. All but one or two greens that I can remember are very diseased and have dead spots which create a planko experience where the ball is bouncing all over the place. I don't think I will go back to Park Hill for a long time.
Dog Track
Played this course a few times last year, never did it look this bad. Greens are just awful and nearly unplayable, tee boxes are worse, no attention paid it seems to any of the course other than the two holes they are building. Hole 14 has been cut in half it seems with no indication of new distance to green. Markers make it seem about 300, but its 250, partner drove the green with 4 hy with people on it, very hard to tell distance without accurate markers, should be laserd daily by golf staff from each tee, would take 5 seconds and avoid people hitting into each other. Course is in horrible condition and at $1 a hole still wasn't worth the money. Two holes being built look impressive, but they are par 3s and will not mean much if the rest of the course looks like it did yesterday. Pace of play of good.
easy layout, decent course
course was in average condition, some greens had lots of grass missing, leaving sand patches. the other surprising thing was all the grass clippings left on the course. the mowers didn't bag the grass.
Course under repair
Make shift tee boxes. New tee boxes to come. Greens not in good shape. Not worth the money until greens are fixed and new tee boxes are open. Might play course again but doubtful
Poor
Greens were in terrible shape with lots of bumps and ruts. Never a true roll. Supposedly a bad winter in Denver caused the problem. I feel these greens will not be in shape until fall if even then.
Many tee boxes were under repair so we were teeing off on temporary tee boxes. Hopefully these will be up and useable by the end of June.
Would rather have seen the time spent on the greens..
Had a great time
Course is in good shape and the pace was good. Looking forward to the two newly redesigned holes being ready. Got a great deal on Golfnow.com!
Course replacing a great deal of SOD
Heavy machinery in the fairway of three different holes. Water line broken flooding a tee box.
Greens are dry and dead
In the middle of May, I would expect better condition of the greens. I would play at this course despite the construction going on but the dead and dry patches on the greens affected the round too much to return to the course.
