Ashton Hills
This course was for the most part well kept, the fairways were green and very nice looking but the grass was high. The greens def needed work they were full of sand. The staff was super nice. I found a great deal on golfnow but typically over priced for what I saw. A lot of the holes weren't numbered which made navigating difficult. Overall I'd play it again for the right price.
The course layout was excellent.
The fairways were manicured, the layout was excellent and the the greens were a bit sketchy but they were being worked on for improvement. Definitely a class facility in my opinion. I arrived late but staff was A-1 in getting me out. I will definitely return.
Great course tainted by a 6 hour pace of play
Yep, that's right folks, we teed off at 130, apparently playing behind the last 4 some of a best ball tourney (not lauderdale) --- and it was beyond painful to play the longest round of golf I've ever been a part of. SIX HOURS. The couse staff did nothing to speed the hacks up in front of us who were awful but acting like they were scratch golfers. Course in great shape from tee to green but it's too bad the staff didn't care about the pace of play.
A challenge, even for the best
I had the pleasure of playing Ashton Hills the morning of their annual tournament. The course was in great shape after the tough winter. A couple of the greens had rough patches, but never near a pin placement.
I am about a 10 handicap and played from the blue tees. This course was incredibly challenging around the greens and fairly tight off the tee. But where the course lacks in length, it makes up for in roller-coaster greens and imagination. If you think you're a great putter on your home course, you will be humbled by the breaking greens of Ashton Hills.
It was a fun and challenging round. If it hadn't been tournament day, the pins may have been more favorable for scoring. But the pins this Sunday were along ridges with almost every putt requiring you play outside the hole, sometimes by feet.
I will play it again.
Great Shape
BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK.TO DATE, IT IS IN THE BEST SHAPE OF ALL THE COURSES IN ITS CLASS. I REALLY ENJOYED PLAYING ASHTON HILLS..
Conditions are Improving
Due to the crazy winter weather, some of the greens had rough patches. They cut down some more trees so the greens can get that afternoon sun they need. The are healing nicely
Challenging course with beautiful fairways
Due to the slope of the course it will challenge the best of golfers but, fun for all skill levels. I had a great time and the staff was very nice. Green conditions wre good, this course will become part of my rotation. Thank you for a nice golfing experience.
Course improving
The course is noticeably improving each time I go out. They are making a number of improvements and it shows. The course challenging and enjoyable to play.
Greens
This course has a very nice layout with a good mixture of easy holes and challenging holes. The fairways were nice and green, however some of the greens, particularly on the front nine had some bare spots. This course appears very challenging from the tips.
Will play there again
First time played hard to find but well worth it. Very challenging course but well worth it to learn even more about different greens. Just a beginner but lived it.
Great course
The golf course has really greened up and is in the best condition I've seen it in the last 10 years. The greens are firm and fast and the fairways are really looking good.
a real challenge
Course was tight and very undulating both fairways and greens.
Not a course I'd recommend
Listen I'm as fair as they come to rating a course and Ashton hills is not in good condition. 75 percent or more of the greens have sod cut in or laid around the greens which r all covered in sand by the way. Fairways were in average shape..this used to b a nice track but needs many months to get there greens back in shape. Not a course I'd recommend.
not the greatest place
Greens were in horrible conditions.
Divots in the green
Dead grass on the green
Challenging course with fast greens and tight lies.
We played as a foursome on a great weather day. Greens were in good condition - very fast! However, overall course condition is just fair because of tight lies (fairway grass has not yet grown sufficiently). Some bunkers lacked sufficient sand. Watch for signage going to hole 12 - if you turn wrong way you could easily wind up at tee 15. Challenging course - You'll need your A game or it will be a long day.
Great value for the money
I used to play this course frequently when it was still called Indian Creek. They got bought out and I tried playing the course a month after they reopened under the name Ashton Hills about 18 months ago. I was really disappointed at the time b/c I paid full price and the course conditions were extremely poor at the time. I had read some good reviews lately and I decided to give them another chance on 4/20. I am glad I did. The course is now back in tip top shape. It is a great value for the money now and I really enjoyed playing it once again. I was able to book the first tee time and they let me go out as a single. Pace of play 2.5 hours. :)
[wish all rounds were under 3.5-4 hours]
Time 4 Golf!
Ashton Hills golf course is in great shape right now! The greens were fantastic & the green on hole number three is more accessible in the front.
Nice but could be better!
Got there in plenty of time and was told even though they were booking tee times they had a tournament going on and the course was slammed with 2 to 3 groups on every hole??? The course: tee boxes were sparse at best! Fairways mostly barren and muddy! Greens best part of the course, held fairly well but there were a million un-repaired ball marks. They were around 11 to 12 on the stimp and a lot of suttle undulations. Quite a nice track as far as layout and hole variation, however, if you have not played there it is nearly impossible to know where to hit it and where not to. We drove an hour to play and were frustrated that they booked us but had a tournament going on, just wanted our money, didn't really seem to care about our expeirence with them? Not sure!
Ashton Hills looking good
Wow is what I say about the greens. Fast, smooth and the cups are well kept meaning a lip out will occur if the ball in not in the hole. Fairways are good but it was a little wet. Pace was great. 2some played in 3 hours. If you've never played here be ready to hit long drives, avoid sand traps and putt carefully. Enjoy, I did!
