Lakes of Taylor Golf Club

The course was in great shape. We had a great time. Very challenging.

Perfect day- pace was excellent,.

The tee boxes were in great condition- even the forward tees which is not the norm on some courses.

Will definitely return to play there again.

Course was in real nice shape. Fairways lush and and good height. Greens roll true but we’re a tad on the slow side. Possibly cause of some rain but they were true.

Friendly staff and course Is well taken care of. Does not disappoint.

I like the Lakes course a lot and have played it several times over the past 20+ years, but this was my worst experience caused simply by the extremely slow pace of play. There appears to be no course monitoring or control and the simple addition of a ranger would resolve the issue.

I read about Lakes of Taylor in an article in the Detroit Free Press a few weeks ago and set up my tee time based on that recommendation alone. Frankly, they didn't do it justice. Lakes of Taylor is a challenging course for every skill level however it's forgiving enough for the average weekend duffer like me. The course is meticulously cared for, the greens are firm, true and accepting all at the same time, but beware of buried elephants! The staff is a friendly as you'll find at any up north club and they keep the pace moving in a friendly way. A course called "The Lakes" of Taylor, as you might expect, has a fair amount of water on it but in many cases it's only there to trick your eyes into thinking its in play. Well struck balls are rarely threatened by the water, but there are a few holes where you'll need to fly the water. 17 and 18 are two of the most picturesque closing holes I've played this year.

I'm not sure how they keep the pricing at $40, but I've played this level of course for $75 - $80 and felt it was a bargain. Lakes of Taylor for the quality of course and value is more than worth the 30 minute drive from my house in Novi and will be added to my regular rotation of courses to play.

The course is in great condition. Although there was a lot of rain yesterday, the course was not overly saturated. The tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens are well-maintained. The pace of play was excellent for the weekend. We played 18 holes in 4 hours. This course is truly one of the best values around.
