La Quinta Mountain: #15
#15 on La Quinta's Mountain is laying along the base of the mountains - stay tight to the base and go for this par 5 in two. The green stays snug up against the base and will not be in full view.

Won't be back

None of our group will return. For the price you pay, it is simply no where worth the experience. Just felt like a Disneyland---pack us all through and take as much money for as little return as possible. Long queue at bag drop off; check in was just wanting our dough with little interest in us having a great day. Drove over to the range to find no spots open, many slots with no balls, and several people waiting. Starter was nice enough--but never saw one person out on the course to move anything along--not one. Was a slog.

Far more interesting courses in the valley for much greater valley. Really felt like a waste of money.

Beautiful But Hard

This course was beautiful, but way to hard for a 20 handicap. Everything is undulating and you rarely have a flat shot. The newish greens are also hard, so tough to stop the ball. All that said, the course is gorgeous and the staff is great!

Pristine conditions

Not a blade of brown grass on the course. Beautiful mountain setting, beautiful conditions. Greens challenging but not frustrating as on some tough courses. Hardpack sand in the bunkers was the only thing I thought could be improved.

It would be easier if they had a cart signs by the greens.

Couple holes we were about 50 -70 yards out and the alarms were going off too close???

Worth a look

Course was challenging and in good shape. Mountain views are beautiful. Saw a red tail hawk land 10 yds from a green I was putting on. Back nine pace of play was much slower. B

Great course with stunning views.

We were a bit unlucky to play the Mountain in strong winds, which made the green approach shots even more difficult. This being said the course layout is great, the greens are typically Pete Dye like difficult, the maintenance was good as was the pace of play

Fast greens, great layout, slow play!

I find a big difference with pace of play from course to course in the area. The range seems to be from 3.5 to 4.5 hours. This was was closer to 4.5 hours which I find slow given it’s not an overly difficult course and everyone is riding in a cart. Unfortunately, this makes it hard to get 18 holes in if you tee off after 12:15-12:30pm.

Great course in great condition but SLOW!

This was a great golf course but the pace of play was horrible considering everyone is on a cart. We legitimately waited for at least 5 minutes on each hole - couple minutes before each shot. I think we finished in about 4 hours and 15 minutes and it was dark as we came off 18. In contrast, I played another comparable course the day before in 3.5 hours.

Waiting on each shot is a momentum killer for me.

Otherwise, fantastic golf course!

Dreamy

First time playing a PGA course, and probably my favorite round of golf. Would play there every week if I could. Friendliest starter I can remember meeting, course is kept in excellent conditions, the mountain scenery is to die for, other golfers were super nice. The Marshall was super nice, but super on it as far as keeping pace of play going. Next time, I’ll probably splurge next time to get all 18 holes in. 4 and half hours seems to be what you need.
