La Quinta Mountain: #15
#15 on La Quinta's Mountain is laying along the base of the mountains - stay tight to the base and go for this par 5 in two. The green stays snug up against the base and will not be in full view.

Great, unique layout

You really get your money's worth on the mountain holes - 4, 5, 6, and then a bunch on the back nine. The stretch from 14-16 is unbelievable. I'd come back, especially because the greens should be better at another time. They were slow and covered with sand. Not sure what kind of maintenance they're doing, but hopefully it pays off in the long run.

Must Play

You will pay more for courses that are half as good. Incredible track. The views. The layout. Unfortunately the green were miserably slow, but that'll change.

Must play if you are down here. Far better shape than the Dunes.

The Greens are Stupid

Played on a Wenesday morning after an hour plus rain delay. Greens had not been cut or rolled and showed effect of overseeding by being slow, inconsistent and unable to hold a line. In addition, there green design of new bumps and scales, coupled with false fronts, backs and sides, along with super hard ground meant every shot landing in the middle of the green wound up long , every short, left, right or Long shot chromed off the green. You get the idea. So the experience mirrored what we've seen at the Dunes for months as well with their new Greens. Bottomline, these two courses were part of every trip I made to the desert for many years. Now, I'll play them once or twice a year to see if improvements are taking ace.

Mountain Course was Great - Be cautious using Tee Off

The course was great. But be careful with Tee Off. I booked 3 Tee Times with their 15% off code. Good deal but if you have to change or cancel, you do not get your money back. You get Tee Off credit good for only 6 months. I live in a golf course community and have an annual membership so I play the same course all the time. I use Tee Off a couple times a year usually for golf vacations. Now I have $583 in credit instead of a refund. I will use it regardless for my last bookings with these people. Be cautious.

Greens a little slow.. But the rough was really thick, around 4 inches thick, almost impossible to find your ball..

Mountain Course

The course was in really good condition, the only 2 faults I have are

1. It was cart path only

2. The greens were slower than I was expecting.

Still in transition

The greens are in a bizarre condition. New grass (hybrid Bermuda tiff eagle?) Plus, being in transition season, made this an "interesting ' afternoon play .

Beautiful Golf Course

Beautiful golf course with several water hazards. Today was a tuff play as it was cart path only which we didn't know when we booked the tee time. It's a bit pricey but worth the views and pictures you will take home. This course calls for fairway accuracy into large greens, all protected by many bunkers. Put this on your list. You won't be disappointed.

Stunning course

Played in the afternoon. Was cart path only due to seeding (was aware when I booked). Was paired up with another single from New York and had a great round. Friendly staff. Fast pace. Unbelievably beautiful course. Can’t wait to go back.

Make Cart Path Only CLEARLY visible!!!!

Look, I drive 112 miles to play golf, I want to know I’m going to be walking back and forth…I am happy to walk 18 holes and would have brought my push cart!!

For $160 bucks I will never do this again. Why? No new seeding, no wet conditions. Why why why?? We were not informed. Small, unlit war I g in Golf Now but nothing from the course itself.

Other

Than that, course is pretty, greens challenging and signature hole breathtaking. Generally, “Meh.”
