Avery Ranch Golf Club

I had a great time. The friendly attendant let my partner and I skip back a few tee times in order to warm-up. It is sort of dangerous at parts on the course when you can't see if there's someone in drivable range up ahead just out of side, ex. #18 when down by the ravine on the left, halfway to the hole.

Course is in really good condition for this time of the year, a must play for out of towners.

Enjoyed a good round of golf in cool, windy conditions on this course that is not very forgiving. While it is quite easy to lose a few balls if you veer off the fairway too far, if you keep the ball in play and can take advantage of the smooth greens running at a good pace, you can put a decent score together. The 5th and 7th holes in particular deserve respect. They can easily ruin you score, as they do to me this time out.

A very "Hill Country" golf course, with lots of elevation changes and risk-reward experiences. They offer a great practice facility. Course conditions were overall good, after several days of very low overnight temps. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, greens all were in good shape. The rough can be pentalizing, with the rocky outcropings,catus. Plenty of deer on the front nine in the afternoon,so be careful you may hit one.

I am from Oregon and play year around, but I have never played in colder weather. 25 at the start and 32 at the finish. But as cold as I was, I quickly overcame that as I became excited about the challenges of the course. I decided to play again the next day when it was slightly warmer and I want to come back in the spring.

One of the best balanced courses in Austin. A great mix of tight, challenging holes with a few wide-open scoring opportunity holes. I've golfed here in every season and the course is always in great shape, even when others are dried out with drought.

Cource was in great shap for Dec play here often so Im very familar with it . Can't say that make my game better.

Avery ranch is always is grey condition. Seems to be a challenging course that will also allow you to score as well. The greens are in excellent condition as well!

GREAT COURSE !!IF YOUR IN AUSTIN PLAY THIS COURSE .

Good condition of fairways, greens and bunkers. It has several challenge holes but very interesting. I'm handicap 20, and if you don't have a moderate and accurate driver, you will lose some balls... I enjoyed a lot.

Great course with good challenge. Found the pace of play met with my style (quick). Love the $1 Shiner Bock after the round. Only downer...when I went to book another round I could not find a tee time other than for 9 holes.

I have played this course twice through golf now
Each time we play there is a tournament that is eather in progress or fixing to start.
We had to wait a long time to finish and it is during the week.
It seems as if they set there tee times up when they have tournaments to fill in gaps.

A great Austin golf course in excellent shape, extremely well manicured, outstanding facilities and staff. Highly recommend to all level of golfers.

This review is tongue-in-cheek. We got rained out on the 14th tee. When the fairway flooded, we called it a day. Didn't really get to enjoy the ambiance of the clubhouse, etc., being morbidly wet. The only thing our foursome registered as a complaint is that the carts have no wind (rain) shield, and we were completely doused. We'll be back, but with our rainsuits.

avery ranch is always a great place to play. course is in immaculate condition and it's a good balance of fun and challenge.

challenging when windy and difficult on the first visit

If you like rolling hills that arent too difficult to play around, deer through out the course, and a friendly staff; look no further. Worth every penny to play on a well maintained course...a lot of fun!

The course is a good mix of difficult, moderately difficult & moderately easy holes, with the front side more challenging off the tee and the back side having more of the easy holes. Course conditions are generally good, but course is more expensive than other courses that have more pristine conditions. Usually, have very good experiences overall.

Avery Ranch is always a nice course to play. A couple of holes still give me ulcers but for the most part I really enjoy the layout, etc. Being a semi-private club, the place has always been very well maintained. I wish I could play it more often.
