Very nice mountain course
Had a wonderful time playing this course. Beautiful weather and views
Dreadful
My first course in TN. Absolutely bad! Grass clumps all over fairways, greens loaded with crabgrass. Horrible shape and slow as he'll. Forget it
Bent Creek
As others have mentioned in their reviews, the course needs some work. Several greens on the front have crabgrass invading them and several on the back have bare spots. Finding the right pace when putting was difficult.
Overall, I still enjoyed my round. There were few other golfers so I played two balls and considered it a practice round.
It was also a good time to sharpen my iron play as most par 4's and 5's were rather short.
There were a few bugs, but the staff in the pro shop gave me bug spray to spray on prior to my round.
Don't waste your time
We play allot of golf and this was by far the worst conditions I have ever seen. The course info states is a Gary Player design and yada yada. ...they should rename this course crab grass creek! Losing balls just off fairway from heavy grass, greens in terrible shape, back nine layout is a joke....just s terrible experience to make plans to play this place on vacation to the Smokey Mountain area
maintenence has given up
Poor conditions was a understatement. I have played bent creek many times so I had a idea of what to expect for 14$ but I felt robbed the minute I stepped on the practice green. It's a shame because it does have such a nice layout. Greens are either overgrown with weeds or bare. Felt like I was playing backyard golf. Not worth this hot deal.
The course is very challenging for women.
We enjoyed the course. It had many interesting and challenging holes . The back nine was prettier with the creeks and mountains to look at. The course could use a little work in the sand traps and some greens.
Neat old course, needs TLC
This course was probably pretty neat and fun to play in its day. However, it is clear that the ability to keep up with fairway, green, and bunker maintenance is lacking. Very slow greens, in poor shape. It is a fair and sometimes challenging layout. No distance problems playing from the blues. Watch out for #10-13. Precise shots are required. It would be best if you could drive ahead and preview these holes if you have not played the course. At the Golfnow price, it is an OK alternative, but I would be very hard pressed to recommend paying full price. I will try other courses in the area before coming back to this one. Very little clubhouse amenities.
Interesting layout!
If your in town looking for a interesting layout with horrific course conditions then golf here. Only golf here with a hot deal! Very tight fairways on the back nine. Elevation changes with required lay-ups off the tee on the back. The front is more open but water will come into play a lot from either the tee or 2nd shot. Better options in the area for a little more money but if everywhere else is booked then this course will be open. Never saw more than 3-4 groups golfing the entire weekend. Would not play here again, probably just rather not play if this was my only option! Bring super bug spray!
Needs a little TLC
Played the course a few years back, was in great shape. Played it this week and while it was still fun and the staff was awesome, the course needs some TLC. Tee's, and fairways need help. Lots of spotty tall grasses in the area where you qould expect short fairway grass. Would not pay full price. Played on a hot deal, worth the 15 bucks but not close to the 60 they are asking full boat.
Great Getaway
Really enjoyed this mountain course! Creek comes into play throughout the first nine! Leave your driver in the car on the back nine! Back nine is a treat!! Several short shot making holes!
Beautiful course with great views!
Played 6/22/2016
Very nice course and friendly staff!
Holes 1-9 are in the "valley". Only complaint was the roads and cars running near the holes. A wayward shot could clip a car. The back nine has several blind shots, and is more scenic. A few layup shots are required. No going for it. The greens are fast and have a lot of break, but very fun to putt on. Kind of pricey, but would definetly play again.
Watch your back
This year we played the back nine; last year, the front. The front is fairly forgiving, but watch out for the back nine. Elevation changes, narrow fairways, mature ball-eating trees. It was great.
Course was fair
This course was not in good condition. The greens were hard and would not hold an approach shot, some were had rough patches, and some had bare spots. The fairway were rough and full of weeds. The course had to many blind shots and no information available to golfers to enable them to make decisions on what club to use.
This course is average
This course has narrow fairways and a lot of blind shots. Not knowing the course layout will cost you strokes. This was only my second time playing the course the greens not in as good a shape as I remember them they were hard and it was hard to get the ball close.
Good Course
Good Course for the price. Very challenging and friendly staff. We were camping close by and the didn't make a big deal over dress code.
Bent Creek
You must play the and not just bombs away or the course will play you. Fun course
Bent Creek
On a weekend golf outing, my friends and I were able to get a pretty decent deal through GolfNow to play at Bent Creek. The clubhouse is somewhat difficult to find. Upon arrival, we were charged with a cart fee and an environmental fee. The front nine was in serious need of maintenance. Most of the greens on the front nine were very patchy and bumpy. The geese and bugs were absolutely unbearable! I have never witnessed an area so infested with bugs in all of my life. The back nine was a pleasant surprise. There were several interesting holes with challenging layouts. However, we were asked to put the carts in for the night, despite the fact that there was still at least an hour and a half of daylight remaining. We only were able to play 15 holes. All things considered, I likely would not recommend this course. The negatives definitely outweighed the positives.
WET-WET-WET
THE GREENS WERE NOT PRESSED, CART PATH ONLY
THE GEESE ON THE FRONT WERE A PROBLEM.
JUST WANTED TO PLAY AS LONG AS WE WERE THERE.
What do you expect at the start of January?
From the valley to pure target golf.
Bent Creek front nine has good length, generous fairways & large, med-fast greens, in good condition. The back nine was completly different-all target golf, with short holes, w/small landing areas & fast, severely sloped greens. Three pins were in impossible spots. If a straight uphill put of ten feet, misses by an inch on either side, then rolls back, off the green....that's a bit extreme. It does have some memorable holes, but making short holes "tricked-up" is not fun golf. Put the back nine pins in realistic spots, & it could be a fun course.
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
Thank you for your feedback. Please let us know the date you played. We have not charged an environmental fee in long time. The greens were aerated last month, and are completely healed..The Canadian Geese are a federally protected bird therefor we are unable to remove them. If you played on the 27th the carts were brought in due to lightning and thunderstorms that produced quarter size hail less than 5 miles from us. We hope you will come out again and give us another try.
