Cypress Ridge Golf Course
About
Cypress Ridge Golf Club stretches along the Central Coast, taking its name from the abundant cypress trees that are scattered throughout the course. The scenic and hilly terrain is the star of this layout, it provides challenging ups-and-downs but also stunning views. The smooth, fast greens are often elevated, as are many of the tees. The strategic placement of the bunkers was determined by the natural contours of the landscape. Though the golf course has many challenges to offer, playability is also a key feature. Golfers of all skill levels can approach Cypress Ridge Golf Club with confidence. Water does not have a prominent presence but it does come into play on the finishing par-5 hole. The golf course is a local favorite for both the enjoyable round itself and the friendly staff.

Fun, Fun, Fun
Loved this course. Undulating hills and some very interesting holes. At one point it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. I can't wait to go back again.
great day
Cypress ridge was great. It takes a couple of times to get used to the course and were to hit the ball. They changed the nines and the old front nine is the back and it is little more challenging . Anyway the wife and i had a great time and we enjoy the people that work there, they are all very nice and friendly and helpful in many ways. Thank you. John
Getting bwtter
CR is gettimg better. Greens good, fairways better, boxes are beimg reseaded. Over all, good deal.
Disappointing
I drive 30 miles to play this course as it’s usually far superior to courses in San Luis Obispo. Played 4/12 and the course was in pretty bad shape compared to the last time I played in March. Grass is so thin that almost any shot not in the rough was a tight lie and hard to play. Not to mention weeds with white flowers running rampant making it extremely hard to find balls. Hopefully the course is in better shape soon or they lower the greens fees.
Fast round, greens were excellent, fareways need some tlc. Lots of daisys.
Cypress Ridge
Great course, need warm weather for better fairways. Thin lies, recently aeration. Recently reseeded and leveled tee boxes- needed it badly. Staff is great! Food fantastic.
Fun Course but, Where’s the Sand?
Have played this course many times and it has always been one of our favorites. But new owners have some work to do to maintain an expected level of condition for the prices they charge. Fairways recently punched with no heads-up from the check-in staff. Bunkers have no sand, just hard or damp dirt. Grass is so thin around the greens any kind of shot digs up wet, muddy soil. Also it is disappointing to see staff not wearing their masks when checking in customers and allowing 5 unmasked people to stand side by side at the bar with no doors or windows open.
Slow
Course needs marshals to monitor pace of play. No reason a foresome should be waiting to tee off at each hole.
Cypress Ridge
A fun day of golfing on a beautiful and challenging course. Fairways and greens are in good condition.
A good value if you get a good rate in the Golfnow app.
I would recommend this course for a fun day.
Overall, a pleasant round at a decent price.
Management needs course marshals to reprimand slow players. It took us 4 3/4 hours to complete round. I wonder when courses will begin to return sand trap rakes and ball washers. Overall, it was a pleasant round of golf. There always seems to be a problem at this course, with people playing music during the round. Even on the putting green. Very annoying and distracting!
Cypress Ridge
Walked the Blues (6443/71.3/128) in 4H, 45M playing with the SLO Co. Golf Group. Played with Jesse, Doug and Gerald, excellent group to play with. 55 and windy made for challenging playing conditions. $44 to walk mid morning.
Tees well maintained, winter thin with the par 3's needing divot repair.
Fairways cut low and play firm. Winter thin with lots of divots.
Rough maintained low, winter thin with patches of hardpan with a few areas grown up.
Sand Traps are usually decent but today was a disaster after over night rains.
Greens smooth, firm and putted medium fast. Lots of undulations, not many straight putts on these greens.
Customer service a +, quick efficient check-in. All grass range is just okay, you kind of hit down into a grown up ravine. Very good, fun to play layout in very playable condition. Recommended.
