Cypress Ridge Golf Course
About
Cypress Ridge Golf Club stretches along the Central Coast, taking its name from the abundant cypress trees that are scattered throughout the course. The scenic and hilly terrain is the star of this layout, it provides challenging ups-and-downs but also stunning views. The smooth, fast greens are often elevated, as are many of the tees. The strategic placement of the bunkers was determined by the natural contours of the landscape. Though the golf course has many challenges to offer, playability is also a key feature. Golfers of all skill levels can approach Cypress Ridge Golf Club with confidence. Water does not have a prominent presence but it does come into play on the finishing par-5 hole. The golf course is a local favorite for both the enjoyable round itself and the friendly staff.

Overall, a pleasant round at a decent price.
Management needs course marshals to reprimand slow players. It took us 4 3/4 hours to complete round. I wonder when courses will begin to return sand trap rakes and ball washers. Overall, it was a pleasant round of golf. There always seems to be a problem at this course, with people playing music during the round. Even on the putting green. Very annoying and distracting!
Cypress Ridge
Walked the Blues (6443/71.3/128) in 4H, 45M playing with the SLO Co. Golf Group. Played with Jesse, Doug and Gerald, excellent group to play with. 55 and windy made for challenging playing conditions. $44 to walk mid morning.
Tees well maintained, winter thin with the par 3's needing divot repair.
Fairways cut low and play firm. Winter thin with lots of divots.
Rough maintained low, winter thin with patches of hardpan with a few areas grown up.
Sand Traps are usually decent but today was a disaster after over night rains.
Greens smooth, firm and putted medium fast. Lots of undulations, not many straight putts on these greens.
Customer service a +, quick efficient check-in. All grass range is just okay, you kind of hit down into a grown up ravine. Very good, fun to play layout in very playable condition. Recommended.
Great Vibe
Staff is beyond friendly. Course is great. Definite worth the drive from LA for me.
Challenging track
The staff at Cypress ridge are always professional and welcoming. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The course is challenging but fair. The greens are well maintained. The pace can be slow at times but the Marshalls are always there to help faster golfers play through. Just phone the pro shop.
The more I play this course the more I like it.
Great except for pace of play
Staff friendly, course in good shape but 5 1/2 hours was not good.
Cypress Ridge
Walked the Blues (6443/71.3/128) mid day in 4H, 45M with Mnielson, Doris and Adam. SLO GC event, sunny and breezy in the mid 60's. $49 to walk.
Tees had okay coverage but far too many unfixed divots.
Fairways winter thin with probably the most divots in any fairways I have played on in a long time. Lots of undulation and roll.
Rough also winter thin mowed down in the 1.5 to 2.5" range, but it is very inconsistent. Usually okay to play out of. Rough farther from the fairways was tall straw like that was a probable lost ball.
Sand was decent to play from, more fine dirt than sand.
Large greens were firm and medium fast speed. I like the greens here, the ball rolled very well.
No on course services with COVID. Customer service was good from all encountered. Busy driving range and they have a putting and chipping practice area. Carts are basic, no GPS. Nice layout, fun course to play in decent condition. Difficult enough w/o beating you up. Recommended.
