Grand/Royal at Grand Palms Golf & Country Club
About
Twenty seven championship holes await travelers visiting south Florida's scenic beaches. Grand Palms Golf & Country Club in Pembroke Pines also offers three nines: Royal, Sabal and Grand. All three are famous for having some of the best greens in the area, and the golf courses are played in three separate combos. The Grand/Royal 18, designed by Ward Northrup, comes in at 6,881, most of which is blanketed with palm trees and tropical foliage. The longest and most challenging of the Grand Palms' golf courses, Grand/Royal features some especially memorable water holes. A tight layout with raised greens (perfect for testing your shot-making talents), beware the Grand's bunkers, strategically placed along the greensides.

Rundown Neighborhood Course
Everything is outdated here. It's a 3 9-hole course with narrow fairways and plenty of water hazards. The green conditions are OK with some patches of weeds and the speeds are average. Ant mounds are everywhere throughout the course. These ants can sting you very badly if you step on one of the mounds. Ask me how I know it. This could be a painful course for those who have accuracy issues.
Nice course
Played this course and really enjoyed it. The water on the course wasn’t hidden so I could see where I needed to avoid it. Course was in good shape but I found the greens a bit slow. Course layout was OK but there were back to back par 3’s on one 9. This is a good course and would play again
Fun course
Played the Sable and the Royal I believe. There’s a bit of water but nothing to crazy that it comes into play more then it should. Course was fun to play and in good conditions. Greens were a bit slow but good shape. The Royal was really nice but back to back par 3’s was a bit much. Only issue I really had here. Great round and we’ll worth the $30
Nice course
This course is in good condition me and a friend played very fast went to the bar for some beers nice atmosphere with music like we haven't seen overall we ll be back.
Deteriorated a lot
Have been playing this course for awhile and it has being deteriorating gradually, the greens aren't well kept, they have stopped maintaining the fairways, they still cut them but that's all. Overall the course is still playable and fun with all the challenges but I've seen it in much better condition
Needs lots of work
I live on the west coast and those courses put this one to shame. Was not worth the $60. It is more like a $45 course and no more. Clubhouse/bar/ restaurant was really run down. Looks like they are trying to fix up the course but have a long way to go.
Good not great
Greens need some love. Most of them are fine but there’s a few with some problems that definitely make putting impossible from certain areas.
No ranger
At hole 2 there 6 golfers on the tee box. We were 2 so I asked if we could play through and we were told no We we’re not happy but whatever
Took 2 hours 20 minutes
At the turn they left obviously it was they’re back 9
Our second 9 took 80 minutes since we saw no other people
When we finished we brought our complaint to the starter who said that more than a foursome is not allowed and apologized since there were no rangers out due to lack of staff since it was off season
Kudos to the grounds keepers
Course is making a come back after three years of abuse ( aka covid. ) wondering what can be done on green were weeds are killed, weed reamerge before turf can fill the space? Most fairways are mostly turf, tee boxes,,, who cares,,,, most of us tee up. It is a shame this course has no beverage cart.
Finally trimming overgrown trees and shrubs
Only reason greens don't have time to regrow is empty heads not fixing ball marks and dragging their lazy feet, most of which probably are members thinking they are above it. Same on fairways, my golf partner and I are always filling two or three divots each, it is aggravating seeing a 6 inch divots just left. All fairways themselves are mostly turf. Tee boxes are irrelevant because most tee up. It would not hurt to put a sandbox with scoop on all par three whites.
Grand Palms
Starter sends out a 5 some (course members) ahead of my group of 3 and says that because they have 5 carts we will never see them. We saw them on every hole.
Had to wait literally every shot.
Course not well maintained for the price they are charging in the off season
Will not be going back anytime soon.
Nice layout needs TLC
I always end up asking why MD golf courses don’t make a drive for memberships so the raise the funds needed to improve overall conditions. Nice lay out and facilities but clearly run down and no better future.
Excellent course
the field is in very good condition and it is a very demanding field, just be careful with the ants they are everywhere
