Flamingo Lakes Country Club
About
Flamingo Lakes Country Club in Pembroke Pines is one of the area's best-kept secrets. The layout is challenging but it is also very forgiving, making it accessible for players of any skill level. The course differs from other golf courses in the area due to its hilly terrain. Elevation changes are not common occurrences on Florida golf courses but you'll find several tricky uneven lies on this one. It also stands out for its superb conditions. Water hazards come into play on almost every hole, presenting some interesting risk-reward opportunities. There are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The layout requires thought and strategy in order to score well. Flamingo Lakes isn't long, instead it provides a quick and challenging round that can be played in less than four hours.

Little Help Please?
We have played Flamingo Lakes several times and have never seen the course in such good condition. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are currently all very good! Pace of play is still a bit slow but apparently that’s just golf in south FL.
My one area of disappointment happened when we made the turn. We learned very early into our round that both of the sand bottles on our cart were empty. The course looked so good that we wanted to be sure we filled our divots so we stopped after #8 to get more sand. When I asked the young man at the starters desk for refills he looked up from his phone just long enough to point me inside of the cart barn where I was allowed to refill them on my own?
The entry gate at this neighborhood remains a concern with long lines and employees who appear to be lost but the lack of interest from the “starter” was disappointing.
The Owner Chose to Expel Us Before Learning the Facts
This was, without question, one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had at a golf course.
Our group had two legitimate tee times: one foursome and one threesome. The course was completely backed up all day, and we spent much of the round waiting on the group ahead of us, which included two adults and two children playing at a slow pace. At no point were we causing delays on the course.
On the 13th hole, part of our group made a brief restroom stop. As a courtesy to everyone behind us, we allowed another group to play through. Once they passed, we continued our round. Minutes later, while that group was on the green and we were preparing our approach shots, the ranger approached us and accused us of combining groups.
We calmly explained that we did not know the players who had passed us and that we had simply allowed them to play through. The ranger himself acknowledged that we were not playing together and that this had been communicated to management.
Despite this, the owner arrived and immediately began shouting at us from his vehicle, ordering us to leave the course. He made no attempt to ask questions, verify facts, listen to the ranger, or hear our explanation. Instead, he chose to publicly berate paying customers based on an incorrect assumption.
Mistakes happen. What separates a professionally managed golf course from a poorly managed one is how those mistakes are handled. In this case, the owner demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, respect, customer service, and basic courtesy. Being yelled at and expelled from a course without any meaningful discussion is unacceptable under any circumstance.
What is most concerning is not that management made the wrong call—it is that the owner appeared entirely uninterested in the truth once he had made up his mind. If this is how customers are treated when there is a simple misunderstanding, golfers should think carefully before spending their money here.
There are many golf courses that value their customers and treat them with respect. Based on this experience, this is not one of them.
Horrible conditions, bad attitude from staff
The fairways are a literal swamp of it rains within 4 days of your tee time. Tee boxes are carved up, greens are bad. Wouldn’t recommend
great kconditions
One of the best courses I have pllayed on my 4 weeks in Florida. Greens were good and true and fairways were in good shpae
Good Course
I would recommend this course. The staff is awesome! Course is not difficult and has a great drainage system.
Good course to play and enjoy
The course is pretty decent. My only complaint is the clubhouse is at the end of the 8th hole and there is not much to select from the 'cafeteria' style venue
Pace of play was very slow, we skipped 3 groups and the course was wide open. Missed 3 holes. No marshall to be seen.
Nice course Wish the amenities were better
Course played well. Decent condition. Enjoyable. What I didnt care for was the clubhouse (restroom and 'cafeteria') felt more like a diner and have to order your food and was told there is a wait. It wasnt convenient to get to between holes 8 & 9
Greta place to play for the value
First time playing here, the layout the greens the fairways are in good conditions and is a little hard course
Great
Great time playing golf at Flamingo Lakes but I do recommend book the earliest tee time because it was packed when I returned when I finish my round at 10:30 a.m.
