Don't find yourself in here, on a par 3 on the back 9! Photo submitted by stratsville on 04/13/2013
Nice course but not in good shape.
The course is a good layout and a very nice course. However course conditions were not good. The fairways and rough had patches of grass mixed in with sand. The greens were good and the speed was good. I played the Palms course a few days earlier and it was in very good shape.
Good track
Ok conditions. Pace was slow as the course is filled with a variety of player abilities who don’t understand ready golf.
Oaks
Fairways and greens in pretty good shape. Unfortunately GPS has not worked for three and a half years - someday they'll get around to updating their data.
Course review
This golf course is in TERRIBLE shape and shouldn’t cost more than &30 for a round of golf even in high season. Fairways are horrible, car paths are in need of major repair and t boxes are mostly dirt. There are non golfers out on the course just walking around the can with their dogs. It’s ridiculous. All 3 Palm Aire courses are in terrible shape.
Consistently a Great Track
Take your pick from any of the three courses and you’ll have a great time. Well maintained facilities and property every time.
Slow pace of play
Decent course for the price. Nothing spectacular but overall good value. They overbooked the course and we were backed up all day.
Maryland
For this time of year with a drought the course was in good condition. The fairways, tee boxes and green were all in good condition. The greens were fast and true.
RIP
As a local, in the profession, and long-time patron, I’ve played here consistently for years—often multiple times per week, including through the slower summer months. The convenience and accessibility have always made it an easy place to get out and play.
Over time, however, the pace of play and overall tee sheet management have noticeably declined. It often feels like the course is stretched beyond a comfortable capacity, which takes away from what used to be a much more enjoyable and predictable experience.
That said, I want to personally recognize and thank Tom, Jeff, and Andrew on the outside staff, along with Juan behind the bar. They are the primary reason I’ve continued to come back over the years. Their professionalism, work ethic, and consistent positive attitude do not go unnoticed. They represent the course extremely well and create a welcoming environment that keeps locals like myself returning despite other pitfalls by management.
As someone who works in the golf industry, I understand how challenging public course operations can be. I hope the facility continues to support and retain staff like them, as they are a tremendous asset and make a meaningful difference in the overall experience. However, with the recent state of events and management, I can no longer continue to support Palm Aire CC.
