Don't find yourself in here, on a par 3 on the back 9! Photo submitted by stratsville on 04/13/2013
Fair at best
Very crowded mediocre course, surrounded by high risers and urban sprawl. Greens in good shape, fairways ok. If you are looking for a one off memorable round, this isn 't the place.
The Oaks course is not in great shape
Most of the greens were ok. Tee boxes were terrible. Pace of play was slow.
par for the course
very windy Paired up with a guy and his wife after playing as a onesome for a few holes
over priced
Back nine better condition than front. Front nine horrible dirt track with weeds everywhere! 65.00 was twice what it is worth .
Stack golfers every 5 minutes. Had to wait on every single shot except greens. Round took 5 hours and we even skipped one hole and jumped a group.
Great Round
Booked on Thursday, played on Saturday. Staff was very helpful and got us out early. Course was in good shape, players need to take better care of the greens, a lot of unfixed ball marks. Could tell they were fresh and not the Club's fault. Greens were true. Saturday round in 4:15 minutes was fantastic. Clubhouse staff very friendly. Definitely come back.
Fantastic Round of Golf
I submitted an earlier review for this course that was misdirected having been meant for another. This course is FANTASTIC! Pace of play was great (about a 7:30am tee time) but I saw that the course was pretty crowded by time I completed the round. The fairways are generous (I still found some water) and you can definitely choose a safe path on each hole, but where's the fun in that?:) The greens were among the best I've played. Look forward to playing again.
Water...water and more water, lol
There might be water on every hole which isn't a big deal if I hit it where I want. I happened to play soon after the greens were sanded so I cant really comment on the state of the greens, but the course has lots of appeal for the pace of play (played before 8AM) and the fact that there's a range right off the first tee. The tight fairways make for a pretty challenging round. Would play again.
A Real Pleasure
The Oaks is a terrific course for the average to the middle of the road golfer, of which I qualify. It's not easy, but it's at the same time very fair, especially for older players. The approach shots are challenging because of the propensity of bunkers but getting to that point is mostly steady golf without too many hazards. I would highly recommend this course to golfers like me, older, shooting in 90s, who don't hit the ball a ton.
tres beau terrain et agréable
Merci beaucoup nous retournerons dans les prochains jours
The Oaks is a great course
Enjoyed the course. Play was a bit slow so we only completed 16 holes before dark. Complete round would have been about 4-1/2 hours.
Poor Conditions
This was a beautiful course once upon a time, but it has gone way downhill, the tee boxes are full of weeds and they are chewed up badly, and the fairways are less than desirable, the greens well they were very slow, not bad but slow! Overall not going back.
RUDE PEOPLE
PLACED BEHIND 2 FOURSOMES WITH A THREESOME 1/2HR BEHIND ME. FOURSOME IN FRONT NEVER OFFERED TO LET ME PLAY THRU EVEN WHEN ON SAME T BOX. 5 HOUR ROUND FOLLOWING THESE RUDE PEOPLE. IPLAYED ALMOST 2 ROUNDS, GOING BACK TO EACH T BOX. CAN'T REALLY COMPLAIN CAUSE I MADE THE BEST OF A BAD STUATION
Good mix of holes
Paired with a twosome after a few holes. Enjoyed their company. Nice course with a good variety of holes. Pretty straight forward but with some challenge.
Quick morning round
Got out 30 min before our tee time which was nice. Staff said range was closed, though there were others out there. Quite poor. Badly cut tee boxes. Fast greens. Ok to play, but quite worn out, and would need a touch up on signs etc.
Wide Open
I've played the Palms before and this was my first time at the Oaks. I started as a single but soon ended up with a nice threesome. The course was in great shape and very playable. Playing from the Whites, the right distance for me, was an excellent experience. I had plenty of opportunities at PAR. The fairways were wide and friendly, and the putting surfaces were good. I will definitely go back!
The Bermuda Rough
The Bermuda rough is ridiculous . Two feet off fairway and you have to search for the ball as it settles down in the Bermuda so deep you can't see it unless you are right over it.
Early Weekday Tee Time
I got a 7:30 am tee time to play the Oaks course on a Wednesday morning. The weather was great. I booked as a single and got paired up with one other gentleman,. We started on number 10. A threesome tee'd off behind us. Pace of play was great. We never had anyone in front of us or behind us. The greens were fast but in great shape. You can't beat the value of the early morning tee times on Golf Now. I payed 18 dollars, played 18 holes, and was done by 11 am on a pretty nice course. Highly recommended if you live in the area and don't like spending 30-50 bucks every time you want to play golf.
Great Value
A very large complex of housing. Facility is above average for the area. I've been at other courses that are much more dated. Course was dead. And that's with one closed for maintenance of greens. We never had anyone ahead of us or behind Saw others on course but never close to us. Beer was $3.50 and on the course. I think we were her only customers of the day. She was always close when needed. Very good value and I'd go back to golf other courses.
