Castle Creek Country Club

The course was burnt to A crisp playing off of dirt definitely not maintained at all. The greens were really rough but the only spot that was a little Green there is so much dirt and debris on the whole entire golf course I couldn’t even see any of my golf balls lost a whole lot of balls due to holes dirt and debris after the tea box, don’t know where to hit the ball can’t see the fairways, how burnt and crisp everything is The worst course I’ve ever experienced in my life, had to deal with coyotes also on the course there are no markings on which T you’re teeing off even missed two holes didn’t know where to go to find the tea boxes overall chaos is that was my first and last time at this course will definitely not be back. Will not recommend it to anyone. Do not waste your time in playing this course.

I read the reviews and fully expected an experience to forget. Every review talked of no redeeming qualities. However, I showed up to a golf cart ready to go, one person in (should be condemned) the clubhouse and a starter begging for a conversation. That being said, the tees (long grass or bumpy) and fairways (gopher ridden) are absolute trash and would be better off bulldozing and flattening and starting over with new grass. Though the greens were more than respectable, given the rest of the course. They were somewhat slow, but consistently smooth and soft. At the price paid ($28) and given I brought my 5 year old, who wouldn’t know the difference from Torrey Pines, I was satisfied with the value. People need to stop expecting quality when you pay so little, stop being surprised by this place.

I hadn’t played here in some years i kept seeing really bad reviews on GN , but I had to see it for my self , showed up to my tee time and no where to check in all doors where locked, walked around trying to find someone to check me in and found no one , I played here back in the days a lot , so I know my way around the place , but every door was locked , no starter , no one to be found.. ok ok now to the good stuff TEE BOXES are horrible 8 inch weeds grout of them , FAIRWAYS are dry and no grass to be found anywhere , the ball will keep rolling for ever , greens are horrible , no point of trying to put , gofer holes everywhere, BUNKERS , well there’s no bunkers their full of hard dirt and weeds growing out of them , the reviews are real don’t waste your time or gas or money , and if you’ve played here before like me, don’t come back it’s very sad to see what it has become 😭🥺

This course is beyond neglected. Fairways are dirt. Greens are not kept up. Not worth the time or money to play. Course has a nice layout however the neglect and conditions are terrible. Pro shop is empty.

This is the only redeeming quality about this course. Completely empty, finished in 2.5hr starting at 3pm on Saturday. No living grass anywhere except the greens, and random long grass jungle oases that result from numerous water leaks. The design is pretty ok but the lack of all maintenance makes this a pretty sufferable experience…. Greens are extremely furry and bumpy, but at least they are alive. Only one employee that is in the pro shop and cart barn, etc etc. zero food/drink, a deserted resort right next to it. A surreal experience in SD county for sure.

Castle Creek has always been one of my favorite courses, but I was shocked to see the fairways have not been watered at all. The greens are in excellent condition, and nice and green, but the fairways are brown and very dry. Difficult to find a good place to hit a fairway shot. Great value for the money, but please water your fairways!!

Only grass was greens 650 tee time no pro shop had to use bathroom drove out to third hole disgusting

By far the worse experience from the start. Course was basically weeds and dirt. You would need a black ball to see it in the yellow fairways. Made my reservation on GN, wanted to ask if they had any food available, phone was disconnected. Got to the course to see weeds growing in the asphalt parking lot it honestly looked abandoned. Got my stuff went to the pro shop and there was no one there. Sign said be back in 5 minutes. I waited 15 minutes and no one ever came back. Got in my truck and drove to welk resort 5 minutes away and played for $20 more than this course was going to charge me. They need to shut the course down and take down the pics on GN, complete false advertisement. And they had the nerve to charge me $30 for canceling and no one was working the pro shop….. avoid this place at all cost

No matter how desperate you are to play, don't bother with this one

Complete neglet by owner..all dirt except greens..no maintenance at all done on course..no sand traps..no water to drink..no idea where the tee boxes are..no signs..DO NOT pay 1 cent to play this course. SHAME ON THIS OWNER FOR LETTING THIS COURSE GO STRAIGHT TO CRAP!!!

I tried to cancel my tee time for Tuesday July 16th, 2024 at 9:50am by selecting the injury/illness section on the website, and I was told I was ineligible to cancel the tee time. Due to my ‘ineligibility’ to cancel, I called the pro shop 3 different times before my 9:50am tee time and nobody was available to take the call.

I wanted to cancel due to an unexpected illness that morning. I paid $23 to book the tee time, and that’s fine, I don’t expect to get that money back. But this course wants to charge me full price still for the tee time for 2 people which was $90 total. I will not be paying that. I canceled the card they have on file.

Th course was in poor condition. The fairways are dry, basically no grass, lots of gofer holes and very rough. Bunkers were non existent with no sand just dirt and weeds growing in them. The greens were ok, but very slow and most had holes and other imperfections. Will not play there again and I was way over charged on Golf Now.

Enjoyed playing with my sons and grandson which was great. However in all honestly they need to either close the course or do a MAJOR serious upgrade. It's a true embarrassment on the course conditions and greens were fairly decent. There's no golf shop no snack bar and closest restroom was at the 10th green. GolfPro needs to be up front and tell everyone how horrible this course is. They originally charged us $65.00 but the person at the so called desk was kind enough to change it to $45.00 when it should really be $10.00 per golfer. Don't book this course!! It looks like a ghost town pulling up and they have the nerve to say it's a "championship' course.

There isn't a single redeeming quality to this course. Tee boxes are a joke, you can't find your ball on the "fairway", there's 0 grass on the fairways, and the greens are so soft I buried my ball in one!
