You get what you pay for, sort of.
The fairways are about 50% dirt. Golf carts are 40$
Horrible
First signed up for an online offer which includes a cart only to find that the golf course does not honor the offer and "does not recommend" booking anywhere but through them. After being charged more to rent the carts than it would cost to have just booked a round through them got out to a course in shambles. It's understandable if the fairways and rough are in poor condition because it is winter but the entire course even the bunkers are horrid. The layout was good but that is the only thing nice I could say about the course.
The pace of play was a joke. When my foursome which included 2 new players and a junior golfer are consistently waiting at every hole something is wrong. Unfortunately this course is a no go for anyone looking to enjoy a round.
HORRIBLE
From disc golfers to gophers this course isn’t worth the time conditions are not playable
Terrible decision
All the fairways were dead. Tee boxes were the worst. No grass, holes, not clearly marked. The greens were overgrown and had fungus, numerous dead patches. Cheap to play and now I know why. Best thing that could happen is the course could close. Save your money do not play this course.
One of my favorites
Very friendly staff
One of the worse golf courses in all of Southern California
By far California Oaks is the worst golf course out of all the courses I played in Southern California. Every Tee Box was unmaintained just like every fairway, also every bunker is completely destroyed with vegetation and weeds. The conditions are so poorly maintained that you will be guaranteed to lose at least 5 golf balls. My group payed $39.00 each to play at 12:30pm on a Sunday, but even for that price it's absurd on how horrendous this golf course is. Absolutely save your money and select another golf course.
Needs alot
Even for 40$ not worth it at all
Dirt track
No joke there is more dirt than grass. The greens were so slow and fuzzy. It was laughable. They look like they’ve been bankrupt for three or four years. You have to share the course with Frisbee golfers. This is the worst course I’ve ever played and only went because my daughter wanted to learn how to play. Literally if they charge $10 I wouldn’t go back.
Worst course ever
Pro shop is non existent, had to wait for guy washing carts to open door to pro shop to check in. Course was void of players and I see why. Tee boxes were lumpy and uneven and filled with sand and weeds, fairways were dry and completely filled with golfer holes, greens were mushy and wet. No bathrooms along course, no snack shop or food. This place is completely unkept. No wonder players were scarce. Will never visit this course again. Worst course I’ve ever encountered.
Pretty Bad!
This course just keeps getting worse every time I come out. I play it about once every three or four years. I am honestly surprised it is still open. Cart path only and the fairways are dirt, so I didn’t really understand the logic behind that. The tea boxes are terrible. The greens were far better than the rest of the course. I can see where they put their effort. That being said, not nearly as good of greens as most other courses. Someone said that JC Golf will be taking it over. I hope that is the case. The course looks like it could close down at any point.
Terrible tee boxes and fairways
This courses could be amazing if they invest into course. Tee boxes were dirt and filled with mounds so very uneven when teeing up. Fun layout but terrible conditions. Will never return.
Rough Condition
Played on Friday. Got off the first tee box quickly. Didnt catch the party in front and no pressure from the party behind.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The carts are decent and they have a scorecard waiting for you. Thats the good.
Course is short and has a decent layout. There are seasonal creeks all through the course which come into play. Small lakes also require thought on where to lay up or go for it. I found about 20 balls from bad shots. With no one close behind it gave me time to look for lost balls. That was a bonus.
The Bad. The tee boxes and fairways are in bad condition. The tee boxes lack grass. Most of the time you are teeing up in the dirt. The fairways arent much better. The greens, for the most part, are decent. They are watering the greens plenty and the play soft. A high pitch will stay put.
This is the most affordable course in the area. I got what i paid for.
Good Weekend Warrior course
First time playing this course. Track is tight and narrow so target golf is a must to score well. Fairways pretty much dry for this time of year. Course could use some TLC but for the price and location I'd play it again.
Course is in horrible condition
Never again!
No grass on tee boxes
Some fairways are mostly dirt
Every green has dirt patches
Frisbee golf players all over the course
