Checked-in Wednesday 7:45am, greeted by Nick. Very polite individual. There was a big group ahead , or perhaps the Wednesday men's group. Our Teetime was not until 9:35am. Since Wednesday was not extremely busy, he allowed me to go after the group, since I booked on-line. While waiting for my party, I overheard the guy asking if they still have the Hotdog special with the Teetime. Well for me, no harm - no foul, I've asked him about the possibility of availing the hotdog special. Out of his good and kind heart he decided to give it to me. I was really blessed. So, I decided to play again the following day (today), hoping I can have the hotdog special with the round of golf. Unfortunately, Greg could not give it because they only run the special Monday thru Wednesday. Greg was also nice and allowed us to go even before our tee-off time. Again, the course was not that busy. I always play at Indian hills and Jurupa hills. Did not play General Olds because the course green died out last year. Now I will try to play on those three days with the hotdog special. I'll invite all my playing buddies to play this course more often. By the way, the manager/owner in the office came out and is really nice. 4-stars until all the greens smooths out. Great people in this course. The women in the restaurant were also nice. God Bless this business. I'll be back with my Church members...
Greens are FUNGIFIEEED
Greens are atrocious. throw it away and start again. at least place the flags in areas you can putt. I cant believe how bad the greens were. some patches drop a half inch. Fairways are ugly, rough is ugly. Just an ugly run down course.
Slow ,Late starting.
Late starting by 40 minutes. Fairways sparse for grass .Greens patchy making a put difficult.+
Greens need work but overall a great course
A great course with very little water. The greens need a little work and they overbook a little bit so it’s pretty busy, but a fun and challenging course. right next to March Air Force Base, so you get some free fly overs every once in a while. Great hot dogs and the bar is fully stocked with all you need.
Course
With all the rain we have received you think the course would be in better shape, this course has great layout and challenging holes, however the lack of grass on the fairways is very bad and the greens have got a fungus needs lot of work before I would play it again.
Rough shape
Starter said their greens “are recovering.” That was an understatement. Balls were jumping like dirt bikes on the patchy greens. Fairways had been punched a while ago and only grew back on the punches. I played here maybe 1-2 years ago and it wasn’t this bad. Wouldn’t play here again.
Not going back…..
First time playing here and the last. After the storm most of the courses around here look good. What’s there is green, this place was super patchy on the fairways still. A lot of divots and bare spots. the greens were horrible, looks like a pinball machine rolling across the green , Had so many dimples bare spots. The sandtraps Had hardly any dirt and no Sand. Very disappointed. No divot mix at the start or any of the holes. The random I was with left after only 3 holes and the group after us left after the half. Probably would of done the same if I wasn’t with my buddies keeping me going. Pace of play was horrible, played the first half twice cause it was so backed up at 10. Very windy today but that I part of the game…….the course needs to be taken care of mainly the greens. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price…..I read the reviews and was hopeful but it sure did live up to them hahaha
8 outta 10: Would recommend
The greens were a bit chewed up, but my buddy and I aren't anything special on the course so it didn't deter from our enjoyment during the round. I will be returning for more rounds in the future.
It’s good discount golf
There are many reasons why General old golf. Course is good discount golf.
Staff is friendly, pro shop as well stocked, food is available for purchase, restrooms are clean and parking is secure. The practice facility with range balls, driving range, chipping, practice area, and putting green is very very good. The course layout is average or better with lots of dog leg lifts that require a draw shot or more of the target golf style of game.
Most of the greens in the front nine have 4 to 8 different varieties of grass growing on the green, and there are many gaps in each grass variety which causes your ball to deviate from course. That can be frustrating, but we play with a two-part rule, when encountering those greens. fairways are reasonable for winter conditions and off. The fairways can be treacherous with dirt and some rock. Sand traps are reasonable and there are minimal water hazards.
Overall, this is a good course for the money and you will not break the bank and yet you’ll be able to enjoy a round of golf.
I highly recommend walking and pull carts are available for rent. They even have a walking rate.
