Winter conditions but great value
No waiting and no rush from behind. Course played fair. Greens a bit rough but that's winter in California. Great value.
It needs some work
For the most part the general is decent for the money but there are a few holes with horrible greens eaten up with rot/fungus. Easy to miss short putts on these greens due to the rot. Fairways were a little dead but that’s to be expected this time of year as crab grass is dormant. Watch out for some of the rough as the weeds are in full force like giant heads of cabbage, easy to lose a ball in that stuff. Water hazards are also back with all the rain. Tee boxes have been getting better each time I go. I stay out of the traps but some are good and some are mud holes right now. Hopefully by spring they’ll have the greens in better shape.
Always Something
I enjoy playing this course.
Budget friendly.
Pace can get backed up at times. (Back9)
Be back
Great Course for Beginners
This is a very forgiving course. Unfortunately the pace isn’t always as smooth as I would like it to be. Still had a lot of fun at this course though.
Great value course
This course is great for a beginner like myself. It’s very forgiving and even a bad hit is playable at most times. Right now there are some rough patches but for the price you can’t beat it. The staff is great. Food and bar area is great. Wonderful staff overall. This was my 4th or 5th time playing here and today was the busiest I’ve seen it. Over it was a great day. If your are a beginner or just don’t want to break the bank. This is a great place to check out
Great Golf Course
This is a great place to play with firends and family. Staff is super friendly, and the food and beer is awesome at the clubhouse! I recommend this golf course to whomever want's to spend a great time golfing with friends.
Corse gone down hill
The course was in the worst shap I have seen. Most of the greens were in terrible condition.
Very reasonable
Enjoyed a day out at the Old General. Family and golf and reasonable rate. Can't go wrong if you enjoy to golf and not hurt your wallet
Bad Sahpe
Tee boxes, fairways, ruff, bunkers and greens are all in horrible condition. It feels like they have completely giving up on any type of course maintenance. I grew up about 15 minutes away and have been playing this course since it went public in 1996. I've seen it go through highs and lows and it seems like it has been in a steady decline since 96. It has definitely hit in all time low. I get that it's about half the price of other courses in the area but it gets a steady amount of play. I just wish they would invest some of that back into maintenance since I recently moved back to Riverside and now live 5 minutes away. I'll give it another shot in the spring, it will hopefully be in better shape then it was this fall.
