General Old Golf Course

First time being here. I tired checking in 30 minutes early was told to come back because they were behind. Not a good start. Our tee time was 2:04pm we didn't tee off till 2:23pm. First hole was nice. The holes that follow were not so great. A lot of dirt area were there should be grass. There is a lot of trees but no big deal on that. This course is in my opinion not worth the money. The warm up areas are very nice. Range is ok they have marks but nothing special.

We keep coming back to this course all the way from orange county because of how great of a value it is. I'm a high handicapper and the course is not too tough with mostly flat areas and not a ton of hazards. It's not a challenge if you are a low handicapper.

Try to avoid this course at all costs. It was not well maintained. We had to wait almost an hour just to get carts. The course conditions are terrible. Super dusty etc.

This club has so much to offer. They have lots of events, and many that are geared towards new players. I was able to play here as a beginner and learn the game, but I still enjoy the course as an intermediate player.

Not a very smooth course but all in all good greens. Sand traps are actually rock traps..

Last minute booking price was fair, Staff was friendly, club house was clean food and beverages were good.

1st , 9th and 18th fairways were green the rest of the course was dry rough and in poor condition. Tee boxes were also in poor condition. Green were fairly nice. sand traps were mostly and mixture of dirt and sand.

There was no cart paths more like dirt roads full of pot holes and ruts. Probable not on my play again list.

Greens were a little fluffy but sped up once the dew evaporated

Fairways were decent

No ambassador to keep up with pace of game. Or at least he was not in that day

Being retired military I always enjoy playing current and former military courses when traveling. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the clubhouse is nice and functional.

The practice area is abundant with plenty of space and room for putting, chipping, and wide range / no waiting on a busy Sat afternoon.

The course layout is unremarkable, pretty much tree-lined fairways and subtle dog legs left and right. Fairways wide enough to avoid major tree trouble most of the time. Nice walkable layout and they have pull-carts for rent.

The only downside was pace of play, 2:45 for the front 9 and bailed out halfway through the back 9. They allowed a 5-some ahead of us, not sure if that's policy or not. That group really was not slow, just overall traffic jam on the course. Maybe stretch the tee times to 12 minutes.

The course conditions were good for a military course and greens medium speed due to grain, I liked the speed even though I usually prefer fast.

In & Out Burger just down the road so that was a treat.

So I bought a round for 2 people and my little brother couldn’t show and when I asked if I cloud get the difference in range credit to make things easier and not get cash refund was still denied. Course was great but service not so much. $105 for a single round of golf is crazy but oh well “nothing they can do”

Love playing this course, My father is buried next to it. Just feel his presence playing so close to him . Course is in gd shape.
