Golfer Reviews
Great value but slow play on weekend
Great value! Tee boxes flat, range was very close to the first Tee. Greens were decent but the bunkers needed work. I play at GOCC very often with my nephew who’s a beginner because the fairways are very forgiving. This brings pace of play which can be very slow on a beautiful Saturday, not sure if you’re not looking for you balls why it’s taking so long. Therefore I think the course needs an on course Marshal to keep ppl on pace. My last round was 5.5 hours on a beautiful Saturday.
Good for the price
Played this course several times. I enjoy the layout and the greens are almost always in great condition. Fairways were patchy but playable. Bunkers were mediocre. I didn’t deal with staff as I had a friend book us. But I enjoy what it has to offer for the price
Fun Course
Course is always a challenge with variable winds. At times course runs very fast greens give a good challenge as well
Too many better courses to choose from
1) Pro Shop Staff treats Golf Now participants like crap.
2) Greens are good, but fairways are a goat pasture. My apology to goats. Fairways are basically dirt, with a few weeks thrown in.
3) I"ve never been treated this bad by Pro Shop personnel at any other course.
THere are way too many better courses in the inland empire area too choose from for equal or less cost. Do yourself a favor and bypass this one. It ins't even worth the $15 Golf Now price.
nice course...but pro shop staff is poor
played here several times using hot deal and the pro shop knows it and treats you like crap if your not paying rack rates. give it 3 stars (for course only). as a side note they allow 5-somes (or more) which can impact POP.
Hidden Gem of Riverside, CA
Played as a single on a Saturday and was done in a little over 3 hours and walked. Course is a great layout with challenging yet forgiving holes. Definitely have to play it a few times to learn the nuances and quirks. Shot a 78, but this was my home course growing up in the game. As always Paulina at the bar is amazing and so is the rest of the staff. Always get treated like family here.
Great Day For Golf
We ran into three groups that were running slow but they were kind ro let us go through. Wish there was a cart person on course, Other than that everything was great.
Poor Value
Fairways and tee boxes were not in good shape.Greens were slow and uneven. Course has definitely went down. We will not be going back anytime soon.
Not what it used to be
I've played here 4-5 times at all times of the year, and I would not recommend playing this course in the summer, It was mostly browned out with no grass. The greens were OK; to be expected for summer conditions. The course from the tips is challenging because of its length, but there are no hazards anymore. Many trees are dead, there is no water in the water hazards, and there is not rough. The fairways were OK, but if you didn't hit them, you were playing off bumpy dirt. I guess you get what you pay for. I remember this course being worth the drive from Orange County, but now I think I will pay another $30 to play a course in better condition.
Courteous Staff/Great Course
Staff handles course very well, Lot of retired military play the course. Food is Excellent with a great set of cooks. Course is challenging when the winds kick up but good Layout.
Course was in good shape
We've been to General Old when it was browned out and not in great shape, this round you could tell that the greenskepper was doing his job. Course was in good shape, greens were in nice shape as well. Well worth the 23 bucks
Easy to get around layout. Riding or walking
Driving range, chipping green, and two putting greens were in good condition and offered a great pre-round workout.
Teed off at noon and finished before four. Good pace of play, probably because it was a week day. Played from the ‘white’ tees at 6400 yards. Ample length for me. There was a longer set of tees and two shorter sets to accommodate all skill levels.
Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition, greens are poa anna and therefore were bouncy and bumpy. Decent speed probably 10 stimpmeter.
Pro shop very friendly and helpful. Snack bar excellent. Will return again.
Very nice course
Very good course. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were nice and green. The greens themselves were in great shape. Nice driving range. Good clothing prices in pro shop. Only negative was the restaurant was closed by 1700.
