General Old Golf Course

Played coarse in mid day so wind became an issue. Tee boxes and greens were in good shape but some fairways were not kept up. Grass was long so a fairway shot was almost like hitting out of the rough. The bunkers were hard with almost no sand. Pace of play was great and all things considered this coarse was alright for the price on golfnow.com.

The greens, while being healthy, could use some lovin'. The ball has a tendency to hop and jump around. They aerated the greens a couple months ago and it seems they never smoothed out the greens. Having said all this, the greens are healthy and if you hit a high shot with back spin your ball will bite and come to a stop and you will have a ball mark to repair when you get on the green. PLEASE repair your ball marks as this is part of the overall problem!!
The 'General' is a fun course and almost has no out of bounds areas if you are willing to go look for a wild shot. I will keep coming back to this course.

The golf was in great condition and i plan to play there agian

this is a great course for those on a budget , my wife is a beginner and lets say wont waste money , so when she golfs with me its always the best deal we can find. the greens are great , even better then great, the course is in good condition, the rough is just that , the fairways are mixed grass patches and in many place long, i am guessing add 300 yards for no roll. so its not a easy course on that account. the staff is awesome , the club house and restaurant is tiger woods, Better then Most. the food is great , in fact some of the best i have had at a course, and i have seen many. nice range and practice area. some it up, well worth the drive and well worth the money .

This is my favorite course. It's the perfect length and not many hazards. Nice fairways and the greens well kept, and little slow. A great place to practice with both a chipping green and putting green. The driving range is spacious. Can't beat the price.

The course is wide open with few distinguising features.

Went out as twosome at 11 o'clock and was finished by 2:15 on a Sunday!
At $49 course is way overpriced!

Fairway is the worse you'll ever see. They let people jump from one hole to the other makes the pace horrible. people who work there plays with there friends with loud music that seems they're having a party on the tee box. don't waste your time!!! go somewhere else!!!

First of I got lost heading to the course which caused me to be 15 mins late for my tee time but the staff was so understanding and friendly then getting on the course I have to say the pace of play was amazing it took me 1 hours and 35 mins to play the front 9 I slowed down a lil on the back nine cause my swing got a little quick but the greens are awesome and true and the par 5's or gettable with a good tee shot as from my review you can see I enjoyed myself one of the inland empire's hidden gems I will be back tomarow as to now I have an idea where to hit my second shots now and the course is quiet no complaints here

The greens were in good shape but the fairways were very rough and hard. They need to be aerated, and watered. It was like playing in a cow pasture. I have played General Olds in the past when it is in good condition. They need to bring it back up to good condition.

I am very pleased with my experience golfing at General Old course. The amazing saving generated by Golf Now made a huge difference in my decision to book a tee time.

I am an advanced beginner and have only experienced two other courses in the Riverside area, Cresta Verde and Hidden Valley. General Old was much more beginner friendly than the other two courses.

I have noticed this place going downhill since I started playing here last year. I come out around once a week because it is cheap and you can usually get 18 in after work if you skip around.

The greens have always been well maintained, but the fairways seem to be getting worse. The grass is more like a mixture of weeds on many holes. Many of the holes have given the rough away to dirt, but it is still playable.

I will still play here because it is a decent value and the closest course to work, but could use some TLC.

course is old style. patchy fairways. greens were very nice. good value for 28$ during the week.

Teed off early with fog, but it didn't affect play. Fairways were in good sharp, greens were excellent. Tough to read but that's part of the challenge. Good rates and course was not crowded at all. Will play there again!

Very very good greens but the fairways were in really bad shape.
It's a busy course, and good value for the price, but most golfers would pay a little more for better fairways.
Kudos to the greenskeeper for the greens however which were great........

The greens were in good condition, although we felt a little soft, (possibly due to weather). Some of the holes were long which really challenged ball striking and distance with driver and fairway wood, as well as accurracy. The dog-legs were a good challenge. The fairways were okay. If one likes a flat course and no water hazards, this is a good course and reasonably priced.

This course is true to its name, Old. In all fairness, the course isn't bad but it could surely use some more water. It's wide open which makes it easy when you hit that errant tee shot, to find your ball. The pro shop attendant on the other hand was not interested in the customer from my impression. Seemed irritated when I asked what must have been obvious questions to him. Never played the course before but enjoyed my time there. Riverside county has lost a few courses due to the lack of available water. I hope this one doesn't meet the same fate!

Have played this coarse twice and plan to play more

Have heard they hold league semis and finals here; too bad. The fairways had multiple types of grasses in it so that you could have horrible lies, behind a clump of grass. The greens were well watered, but were very bumpy. The sand traps were just a couple of inches deep. The holes didn't have a lot of creativity. The wind makes it challenging, but many of the holes are very basic. It is very inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

I had never played this course before and was neither over or under welmed by it. It is in decent condition but not amazing. Good course that I would play again but only if I got a good deal on it.

The course was in decent shape. The tee boxes were good, fairways were in good shape, and greens were consistant. However, if you hit anywhere off the fairway (OB, or outside the first cut of the rough) you are hitting off of hard packed dirt or rock/gravel. The course is not to difficult to stay in-bounds, but it can play long.
