General Old Golf Course

General Old CC has evolved from a private Air Force course to a challenging public course. The clubhouse has been remodeled and the food service and accommodations are top notch. The staff seem very helpful and knowledgeable.
The fairways are good, the greens are great although a bit slow, but the rough in many places needs improvement.
They have good carts and the course is marked well for yardage.
All in all a round there is a pleasant experience.

Overall good course, fairways a little dry. Greens really slow, took some getting use to but everyone can make excusses for shooting bad some days. haha Last played this course about 8 years ago. Hasnt changed to much except theres no water in lakes. Some times thats a good thing. Lots of long holes. Plus the history of the course and it being next to a militay cemetery and myself being a Veteran as well.

I teed off at around 9:30 on a Sunday. Course conditions from tee to green were ok. The greens were good, but kept pretty wet due to the heat. Lots of fun holes and plenty of chances to hit driver.

Nice driving range, new club house and course is still a great place to just go out and have a fun day playing your favorite sport.

Fun round of golf. Price was right. Had the front 9 to ourselves. Conditions of course well worth the money and drive from So. OC..

Weedy grass, dry areas off fairway, fairways not cut close, sand bunkers like rocks. Good location for trees and if behind them you lose a stroke as cannot approach the green from treed areas. In general, the course condition was poor and I wish I had selected another course last week.

Good course layout, greens are in good condition, but fairways are sparse. Great Breakfast Burrito!

March doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles, but, especially for a public course, it's a great course for players of all levels. They take great care in making sure the course is always in above average shape and the difficultly level is perfect for pretty much anyone. It's likely that few people would go low over all 18, but I would doubt that anyone would blow up their scorecard either. It's a very nice combination of being open enough that you won't lose many ball, but still difficult enough that if you start spraying it all around you're not going to be shooting that low. For the value, it's really hard to beat.

General Old course is staffed by a friendly and accomodating staff. The course has a great lay out and is very challenging from the blue tees.The food in the clubhouse is great and eveyone I have met playing there has been fun to golf with. pace of play can be a struggle on weekends and fridays.

It plays long from the blues (6801 yds) but its relatively flat and straightforward. As of 10/15/12, the fairways are still recovering from overseeding, but the greens are in great shape. When the course is at its peak, its a good value for any green fees under $30.

The course was in good condition. the greens were a little slow which surprised me. It was a hot day. I expected the greens to be quicker. Overall, a fun course to play.

Great bargain for this challenging but fair golf course

Very poor customer service from the point we arrived. Fairways and greens are in below average condition. Pace was extremely slow.Waited about 3-4 mins between each hit. Our golf cart stopped about the twelve hole and I sent my Son(15) back to the club house to get another so the group could finish. The manager would not give him another cart and made him walk back. Finished on foot with cart bag. Never will recommend and will never play again.
