Nestled in the heart of California Gold Country, La Contenta Golf Course wanders through the foothills of the Sierras. Being surrounded by beautiful mountains, the course feels peacefully secluded and enjoys stunning views, yet it is conveniently just a short drive from Sacramento and the San Joaquin Valley. The layout sprawls across a diverse terrain that ranges from lush valleys to grassy meadows. With the up-and-down of the golf course, accuracy is a necessity, especially with large water features coming into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. One particularly memorable hole is the par-3 13th. This scenic hole tumbles down from a dramatic elevated tee. La Contenta Golf Course has been one of northern California's most popular public courses for more than three decades.

Very fun course!
Picked this course only because I was driving through town. What a great surprise! Nice layout, hilly terrain, and good conditions given Dec and recent rain.
Not even close to me, but I would play again if I happen to be in the area. Only paid $20 so for that price, it was a steal!
Super fun!
I’m a Greenskeeper at Greenhorn Creek golf course and my brother and I played here for the first time. We had a great time we played with two other guys and everything went smooth. The course is well maintained and the greens were nice!
Worth the drive
Try to play this course a few times a year. Nice course, nice layout and the course is in nice shape. I always look at public courses for what they are, not resorts. I put worth the drive because it isn’t really crowded like the city courses. I think most people would enjoy playing here.
Great course
Traveled 2.5 hours for moms birthday and got in a round of golf. Great course will play again. In really great shape considering calif. drought.

It’s looked better
I’ve played La Contenta numerous times in the last 5 years and I will say it has looked better. The greens had some fungus and patches that were dead. The fairways were nice but the bunkers were not great. The staff is always super friendly and the bar staff are wonderful. For the money, I would play somewhere else.
La Contenta - beautiful course!
Peaceful, challenging course amongst the beautiful foothills. We rate this as one of the top public courses to play around the Central Valley. Highly recommended.
