Nestled in the heart of California Gold Country, La Contenta Golf Course wanders through the foothills of the Sierras. Being surrounded by beautiful mountains, the course feels peacefully secluded and enjoys stunning views, yet it is conveniently just a short drive from Sacramento and the San Joaquin Valley. The layout sprawls across a diverse terrain that ranges from lush valleys to grassy meadows. With the up-and-down of the golf course, accuracy is a necessity, especially with large water features coming into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. One particularly memorable hole is the par-3 13th. This scenic hole tumbles down from a dramatic elevated tee. La Contenta Golf Course has been one of northern California's most popular public courses for more than three decades.

Fun spot GREAT STAFF
Love this course ! Must have a cart! The staff is amazing !! Only suggestion be aware a few holes if you miss the fairway dont ball hunt.. Poison oak or Ivey exist as my legs can attest!
Great Course!
Great course to play! Nice pace of play, great upkeep. A great mix of challenging and easier holes.
Quirky layout. Short course that plays tough. Course in good shape, greens medium fast. Take a cart, it’s a tough walk. Lots of elevation change.

Perfect place to play. Play was a little slow but forgivable. Look forwards to getting back up there to play b
Disappointed
The course has some great views and some cool looking holes. That said, the pace of play was pathetic (5 hrs and 23 mins)!! There was no Marshall to keep play moving so it got extremely frustrating! Fairways were good for the most part, greens were just average (need some serious love) and the tee boxes were just okay. I won't play it again anytime soon . . . it certainly wasn't worth the hour drive.
Great course
This course has a lot of elevation changes and it's challenging. Definitely not boring

Glad to be able to get a good tee time.
No backup anywhere on the course throughout the day.
Overall, the course was in good condition with no real issues.
Not the courses fault?
Love this course. But...
They have no driving range. Every time I play here I always wonder what I would have shot if I could have properly warmed up.
Fun course
This was a fun course to play. I wish I was able to hit straight consistently so I wouldn’t stress about the houses along the fairways. Other than that it was a blast and will be playing there again
Terrible pace of play!
You shouldn’t put out fivesomes on the weekend- we had to wait every hole and they ended up 2 holes behind. This is the 2nd time playing and more than likely the last time even with lower rates than most other courses. 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes is just too long and not worth the drive.
The course is very well maintained.
I always enjoy LaContenta, even when I don't score well. The surroundings are beautiful, the fairways excellent, and the greens are always true. It is a lovely layout.
