Too much water on course!
Over watering of the course made it sloppy. Other than than that, course was good. Greens rolled better than average.

Great Golf Now Deal
We really enjoyed the variety of Hole Layouts. Fairways sometimes inconsistent. A few very challenging hits over water but not undoable for me as an ametuer. I would revisit this course.

Course conditions calls for cheaper green fees
Pros:
- Central SD
- moderately challenging
- not busy (weekday morning)
- staff was friendly and helpful
- walkable
Cons:
- conditions were poor — several areas where it was very slushy, large repair areas, leaves looked like they hadn’t been raked in days (making is very difficult to locate the ball), and during play some of the greens literally where the pin is was being watered by staff literally before were a few shots away.
- some holes had obnoxiously large bunkers that actually stretched a good amount of the fairway.
- the cost for this course was not fair for this type of course - subpar conditions, midweek with no cart. If it were $15 cheaper I’d say that’s about right.
- somewhat boring; not much elevation and most of the holes tend to seem the same. No signature hole that is memorable

Riverwalk is way underrated
Riverwalk was a pleasure today. From all the courses I've played on golfnow, it is by far the most underrated. Yes they charge extra for the cart (VERY walkable course), the fairways are a little rough in spots (lift, clean and place approved) and I admit the tee boxes are pretty beat up (isn't that what tees are for). But the layout is real nice, close to championship quality, and the greens were just pristine today. Rolled in two 30' putts even. Since the course is a little overlooked, it's mainly regulars so I found the pace of play and friendliness of the people to be superb. Was matched with a regular player and we just had a heck of a time! 7am tee time, twosome following a couple groups and we still played in 3+30. I'm super glad I found this place and will gladly come back when visiting San Diego. Thank you Riverwalk for a real nice "river walk!"

Tee time was about 8am. Course was very wet. Tee boxes in horrible condition.
Making one person prepay for the foursome is inconvenient! If all players pay cart fees in person why can't we pay course fees in person?

Expensive Carts
Signed up for the walking rate for $41 a person with two people playing ($82). Decided to get a cart and was charged $40 for a cart; $20 a person in the same cart! I have never paid that much for a cart. The Starter tried to justify the cost by saying Torrey Pines charges $20 a person for a cart. I laughed.

10:40 tee time on a Saturday... it took 7 HOURS TO FINISH MY ROUND! NEVER AGAIN! $20 for a drive cart rental if you choose not/or can't walk - Ridiculous!. $$$ WAY OVER PRICED for what the course is... it might have history, but it's not worth it anymore. As one other golfers review says 'I kept looking for goats!' IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Great Course but getting EXPENSIVE
Great course - one of the best within the city limits. Used to play here for $40-$50 WITH cart. Charging $20 a cart is a bit outrageous but the standard these days it seems like.
Absolutely love playing here and will continue to pay the higher price but would play more if it came back down a bit and honestly my ONLY critique.
Such a shame this course will be gone in a few years.
