Pala Mesa Resort
About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

Very nice resort course
A little out of the way from San Diego, but a worthwhile visit. After recent rains, the fairways and rough were challenging. The back nine is tough and there are no easy par 3's. Very fun course, though.
Super friendly staff and a great course
It's not the longest but the rough is there and when it's damp, you'll definitely notice it. Which adds to the h
Great shape and wide open
After all the rain this course is the greenest I've seen it. There was no one in front or behind us on a Tuesday at 10am.
greens a little slow,
pace of play great, under 4 hours, general layout and maintenance very good, value good,Kelow
LOWER YOUR GREEN FEES!
Come on! No twilight rate and you’re charging premium prices for a mid level course?
The staff here is great, but no matter what condition the course is in, you’re not gonna fill your tee sheet at $120 ALL DAY.
If you lower that rate, they will play.
Beautiful, Well Maintain Course!
Hats off to Chris at the pro shop, super friendly and professional upon arrival.
The course is in OUTSTANDING condition.
The tee box, fairway and greens are above exceptions, especially after all the rains.
All of the bunkers are full on fluffy white sand.
The golf carts are some of the best around; GPS, Music Radio with many channels to choice from, etc.The snack shack host was very nice and makes a great Bloody Mary!
After the game stopped in the restaurant (aquaterra) and was greeted by a wonderful cheery waitress Izzy and than finished up the service with Ariana. If you are a golfer and reading this post, I highly recommend you get out there and experience what all golf course should be aiming for - Well done Pala Mesa!!!
Wayyyy too pricey
This is a muni course cosplaying as an expensive course. Nothing special. Save your money. $40-50 green fee would be more appropriate for this course.
Too noisy!
Course was okay but too close to expressway. Traffic was very noisy. Would not play here again for this reason.
Nice track.
I have played this course occasionally when traveling. Booked on Hot Deals. Course was in excellent shape considering all the recent rain. Staff and pace of play was great. Would definately play again even at regular rate.
Last day of the trip
We played 4 courses in 4 days, and far and away, Pala Mesa was in the best condition of all the courses. With daily rains during the previous week, we weren't very hopeful of the course being in good condition. To our surprise, considering all the rain we had, it was in VERY GOOD shape. Tee boxes, most fairways and greens were all super playable. Only three holes were CPO. Every employee we spoke with was super helpful and upbeat. Pro shop, snack shack, restaurant and course maintenance folks were all very professional and friendly. I would definitely come play Pala Mesa again!
Up and Coming
My buddy played this course a few years back, but was impressed by the upgrades under the new ownership.
Considering all the rain the last few weeks, conditions were outstanding. Greens were awesome. This was our fourth round in four days and the only one that wasn't cart path only. Truly a bonus.
The guy in the pro shop (I apologize for forgetting his name) was super friendly and helpful. We had the good fortune of playing on a Monday morning, so pace of play couldn't have been better. We were under time constraints, but we still able to hang around for lunch. (The food was excellent.)
Definitely a candidate for my next trip to the Northern San Diego area.
Country club conditions. The course is in incredible shape. The greens were perfect. Bunkers were great. Very challenging track. $120 Is steep, but the Course conditions are worth it wish I could play at that cost more.🍻
Fantastic course great staff
First of all the staff was fantastic super friendly accommodating, gave a lot of information about the course. Shout out to Chris in the pro shop. Super nice dude.
Course was in great condition, even though we had 2 feet of rain over the last three days the grains were slower than normal but rolled great. Some of the holes are pretty narrow so controlling your shots of the tee is crucial. Greens very receptive and bunkers ok due to the rain we have had.
Overall great course, can’t wait to get back and play when the greens are fast and furious.
This course was worth the money!
It is overall a beautiful course! The narrow layout makes the round interesting and challenging. Would recommend!
Greatness!!!!
From the friendliness of the pro shop to the Starter, to the cart return, and the restaurant, this establishment was top notch. The course was in great condition. The sand traps had just the right amount of sand (or so I heard). Putting was true and the fairways were plush. You actually had a chance at every shot. This is a must visit course any time we are in the area.
