Pala Mesa Resort

About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

What a great course!
I booked the course online and when I arrived at the course the staff couldn't be more friendly! The man in the pro shop was really helpful in describing the course and what to look for. Hole # 16 was a blast!
The round was very quick and I loved the course so much I played it again the next day.
Getting to know course a little better makes it a little easier, still a fun course
Great condition
Played yesterday staff is very friendly green is great condition fairway is perfect will play again here
Nice course
Staff friendly, course in good shape, course looks easier then it really is, but everything is good, good day
Overally Good!
Green was well-maintained, even though it looked like certain fairways needed the grass trimmed. However, I enjoyed the play.
Pala Mesa Redone
Although the tee time price is a little high, the course is in great condition and the pace of play couldn’t be better (started at 9am on a Monday). My partner and I finished the 18 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes without rushing at all. Took second shots when necessary and no pressure from players behind and we hardly ever had to wait for the 2 some in front of us. Great day at the golf course. Definitely going back.
Good course
I have no negative reviews for this course. I can get hot in the summer months, book your tee times earlier in the day.
Decent course
Overall good experience, challenging holes throughout and greens were fair. Pace was great because group ahead were good golfers. The really only concern was the blue tee boxes. Majority were not level with a hump in the middle of markers and grass was almost tee height. Nothing like hitting tee shot with ball either above or below your feet.
Fun day at Pala Mesa
Enjoyed our round of golf. Teamed up with a married couple who were tge nicest people you could want to join up with. Weather was great, the course in excellent condition. Looking forward to playing it again.
enjoyable round.
this course is very mature. everything in the layout seems have been there since they built the place. i noticed a few old trees cut down. not sure from bugs or design.
the rough is rough. even in the fariway. the grass will grab the club if not struck perfectly. and the bunkers. stay out of them. 90% of my lies in the bunker during the morning were Fried Egg lies. some hard holes become easy with a correct tee shot. dont forget how your yardage goes down at sea level with a lot of humidity. the yardage difference can be extremely different from where you play regularly.
Crab grass city
If you are into uneven tea boxes, burnt fairways that don’t have real grass in them, and second cut that is crab grass city, then this course is for you. This is one of the worst courses I have ever played in my entire life. That isn’t hyperbole. It is basically the same thing as playing a municipal course. If you are looking to not spend very much money, get a golf now hot deal, and go to town. If you are lucky enough to hit your ball in the 20% of the fairway that isn’t either burnt or harder than concrete, you’ll probably do OK. But if you are in the other 80% of the fairway that is either burnt, crab grass, hardest concrete, then you’re gonna have a not fun day. No, I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend, I’m not even sure I’d recommend this to an enemy. I uploaded one image of one of the tea boxes, I really should’ve taken more pictures of the course in general.
