About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

No quite like the photo
Fairways were a little rough, but may be the time of year, first time here. Greens in good condition and tricky to read with all the mountains around influencing almost every putt. I’d play it again

Overall course and greens in poor condition. Not worth the money regardless of cost

The most impressive staff! Polite, professional and friendly!! Made you feel like you were a "club member".
The course is deceivingly challenging. I was having too much fun to really give it my best shot, but well worth it! I will make this course one of my favorites and will play here a lot. It sits high above I-15 so if you don't keep it in the middle almost every hole, you're in big trouble. Trust me, lost one sleeve of balls which are either headed to I-15 or on the fairway below the fairway I'm playing!
There's a full size restaurant OR a patio grill that has a lot to offer. I really do like this course!!

Stayed at the resort and played on a Saturday afternoon.
Had an awesome time. When the pace of play is good, this course is great fun.

The Golf Carts Are In Charge
I've played winter golf here many times over the last few years. Up until now the only irritation was the policy of letting 5 somes play, especially during wet conditions with a 90 degree rule in effect. No problem with that this time. But this was my first time on the course since the start of the pandemic in 2020. The golf carts have all been programed to try and counter the poor golf etiquette of all the newbie golfers who have descended on courses everywhere. Other courses use lots of signage, here the GPS rules. You are constantly bombarded with useless information and are nanny controlled to the nth degree. Absolutely annoying beyond belief. There's gotta be a better solution. It's bad enough to make me reconsider playing here again.
