About
Pala Mesa Golf Resort is situated between Temecula wine country and the beautiful countryside of San Diego's North County. The course was carefully carved from the surrounding hillsides, providing rolling fairways and undulating greens throughout the layout. Towering oaks, sycamores, and elms blanket the course's landscape, providing the perfect complement to the stunning mountain views. The fairways are tight and lined with trees, demanding a fair amount of accuracy. The greens also play fairly quick. The golf course does provide a challenging round but it is seemingly much tougher than it actually is. Beginners should still feel comfortable taking on the course. The versatile layout in combination with the consistently good conditions have earned Pala Mesa acclaim as one of the best golf courses in San Diego County.

Gorgeous course.
This is one of those courses where you have to just stop and appreciate the view every now and then. Pace of play is amazing since time between groups is 15 minutes.

Poor cart maintenance
Read numerous reviews on carts breakdown on the course. Thought it might be a rare occurrence but after the battery on one of our carts died on hole #3 and the second cart battery going on hole #6 I realized that Pala Mesa has a serious problem. They said that Club Car can’t deliver a new fleet for one year but they plan to replace some battery banks in the near term. They were prompt getting us new carts and we made the. Full 18 holes in 5+ hours.. regardless the course was in decent condition. The greens were tough to put from above the hole but in good shape. No beverage cart but a good halfway house at the turn . The closing holes were very pretty. Lots of tight holes small greens and well placed bunkers.

Good round of golf
Fun layout, it’s in good condition after the rain. Definitely recommend this course if you’re thinking about it.

The first cart barely maid it through 9 holes. The second had to be pushed to finish the back nine.

Good but slow
The course is fairly nice and the staff is friendly. The only bummer is that there was a youth tourney with 72 players on the course the day I played. Needless to say, it was super slow.

Pin Placement issue
I liked this course. Interesting layout, on a fine piece of property. Pro shop, starter, and snack shack staff were all excellent. Conditions were good, and greens rolled nicely, at about 9.5. They can't go much quicker, due to slope. My only issue was the ridiculous pin set up, especially on the back nine. EVERY single one was on a slope, tucked behind a bunker, and/or 8 feet from greens edge. This affected pace of play on the back nine. PLEASE have your PGA Pro ' enlighten' the super on correct pin placement. Still shot 76, but hard to watch playing partners 3 putt almost every green.

Don’t play now
The course is great. The problem is the cart situation. They have reduced the number of carts due to maintenance issues. The cart we had started to die by the fifth hole! I tried to get new cart at nine, but they had none. The cart died on 10 and it had to be pushed. They finally got us a cart on 12 tee. Then the cot her cart in our foursome died and we had to push it with our cart for the last 3 holes. Totally unacceptable. Ruined the whole day. You can’t walk the course either.
